I might be able to help you, but it's important to know the model and make of the computer because some models are known for certain issues (Example: Dell Latitude D620 is known for having graphics chip that burn out after about three years
) You need to tell us the make (Dell, Emachine, Toshiba, Fujitsu, etc) and the model number (Example: D620, T4920 etc) So get us that info and mayhaps we can help you <:0)

Buy a new battery, may show as fully charged but does not output to laptop, i had same problem bought new battery fault solved.

dell latitude D620 do not have webcam
if you want to have a latitude laptop which com with builtin webcam then buy Latitude E series.

you forgot to tell us what password.
Is it a bios password or windows password?


For Windows Password, As far as I know , there are two main methods to solve the windows password problem as follows:

1st Method:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type \Administrator\ (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from \Control Panel - User Accounts\.
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

2th Method:
Windows password Recovery software:
for example: Any Windows Password Reset 7 . It is easy and convenient to use.

Is the laptop really turning itself off, or is the display just not doing anything?

It sounds like it could be a problem with the nVidia GPU used on the D620.

Dell has extended the warranty on the nVidia GPUs by 1 year. Call Dell and describe the problem.

disable the screen saver mode and check.

the motherboard might have a problem or the operating system needs to be re installed

if u can see dispaly at first when u power up then press F8 key then u enter in enable vga mode.
If u not see any dispaly then refix ram and battery.
then if still problem arise u have reset bios settigns .
for that u have to check on mother bord in laptop pull cmos cell for 15 minutes from it then it reset .

Is this when the ac adapter is plugged in?? Or on Battery??
