Go to the lexmark site and download the software. You can put it on your computer directly and once you have it you can burn it to disk if you want.

go to lexmark website, look for drivers. download them.(save) run the down load- you'll probably get an install wizard. run it, and your lexmark should be back in service!

It looks like the X6100 series of printers are supported on Vista starting with model # 6150 through 6190 Pro.

Based on the above information, I would say that the X6100 is not supported on Vista.

The Printer is a Old Printer thats y the software which you have may not work......
In this case go ahead and download the software from the following Link:

Download the drivers from here and install the Printer.....

How to Install BVRP FaxTools Software on the Lexmark X6130/X6150/X6160/X6170/X6190 Pro ID:ENUS8694
The FaxTools software is on the Lexmark X6100 Series Installation CD. During installation of the printer driver, you will be asked whether you want to install it. If you choose to cancel this option during the installation process, you can install the software separately as follows:

1. Insert the Lexmark X6100 Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive.
2. When the Install Software screen appears, click Cancel.
3. Right click on the Start button and select Explore.
4. Click on the plus sign (+) beside My Computer .
5. Click on the plus sign (+) beside the Lex X6100 CD.
6. Double-click on the FAX folder.
7. Double-click on the relevant language folder on the right-hand side.
8. Double-click on the Setup executable. (Note: The correct setup icon is the one with two white arrows on a grey foreground.)
9. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

There are some compatiblity problems between Vista and your printer. Check this web page to download a driver that may provide limited printing capability for your printer...you'll need to use Windows Scanners and Cameras or Photo Gallery for scanning.

Go to www.lexmark.com and click on Drivers & Downloads then Driver Finder. I did not see the X6100, but I saw the X6150 and X6170, hopefully that's what you have. You need to download the correct driver depending on what operating system you have. In other words, do you have Windows XP or Vista?
