Model #ED 271 APG Briel Multi Pro Series First,

Model #ED 271 APG Briel Multi Pro Series First, on the coffee side the light comes on, but does not make coffee. Second, On the expresso side I have cleaned the screen, but there isn't but a trickle of coffee that comes out. This post is REALLY old, so you probably already fixed or discarded your machine. But for others with similar problem....

You may have a blocked top filter screen. If the machine is not cleaned regularly this screen can become so dirty and clogged that the water cannot get through.

Easy way to tell is run a shot without the portafilter basket in place. Water should flow out of the top screen. If you see it spurting out in small streams it needs to be cleaned.

On the ES200AP MPS machines you simply need to remove the screw in the middle of the screen, clean well, then replace.

I have the briel multi pro EG 281 PG/APG. When I try make espresso, water comes from the frother and not from the brew head. Any suggestions on what the problem might be? Thanks!

sounds as though your brew head is clogged. when was the last time you descaled your machine? even if you've recently done it, it would not hurt it to do it again. descaling will eventually clean out the head and lines to the head and thus, your brew head should be despensing the coffee again. the reason it is having water coming from the frother is because under pressurization the water is shot into the areas that are open for releasing the pressure in the form of water. if one or the other outlets are clogged, then the next one available takes the pressure from it as it is re-routed to the only open source as your frother.

Briel MultiPro Series The machine suddenly stopped heating. Everything works fine except that coffee comes out cold. There is no way to heat up water. Which part could be deffect?

Possibly bad heating element which is inside thermoblock. Can purchase for $75. Contact Fank at ElectraCraft Phone (201) 439-1700 to help you troubleshoot.
