Before you lose all hope of fixing it without having to purchase a fresh system from Microsoft, as the BIOS menu ends quickly press F8 and if the system is still intact you will be invited to repair your system from the hard drives recovery partition. If that doesn't work there are people selling start up disks on the internet, I haven't tried them and cannot comment.
Hope this helps.

How do i do a system rebuild on a acer travelmate 2410 series 2413NWMLi , the <alt> <f10> does not bring anything up

If your computer does not have a hidden partition for OS recovery, a recovery CD will be required in order to recover the Operating System using Acer Recovery Media.
Order the Recovery Media from Acer https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=acer
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the F12 key repeatedly to enter the computer's Boot Menu.
  3. Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the disc labeled System CD.
  4. Close the CD-ROM tray.
  5. Refer to on screen instructions to select either CDROM or USB CDROM.
  6. The computer will boot from the Acer Recovery Media
  7. When prompted for the Recovery CD, remove the System CD and insert the Recovery CD.

Note: If there are multiple Recovery CDs, please insert the first of the Recovery CDs.

  8. After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
Note: if your computer is unable to run the Acer Recovery process, or errors occur during recovery, please contact Acer support.

I own an acer travelmate 290, and getting no display on monitor.

First check to see if your PC has a built in factory restore, or system recovery, usually available using CTRL & F12, F10, etc. Check your manual, if you don't then, OK try this, Startup PC, press F8 at instant of turn on... choose Safe Mode. when you are asked if you want safe desktop or system restore choose restore, when you get to the restore menu, choose a date BEFORE you had problems there may only be one or two to choose from. just follow the instructions and you should be back to working with all that behind you. If that doesn't work, boot up on your Windows DVD and do a "Repair Install", If thats doesn't work do a format and a reinstall.

Acer travelmate 290 error

Use another Bootable Disk Operating System to see it as may be the same problem you have. I think it's your Installer Disk have a problem.
From this problem it's windows system failure to show display appearance normally.
At least you try just one installing another Bootable Disk.
Good luck!
