There is a circuit board that is failing. Sorry but it is time to buy a new monitor. If you are skilled at electronics repair you can replace the circuit board, but I have found that the price of the circuit board plut the effort of replacing it is not worth the trouble.

Its a Lcd so if it stays on turn off all the lights (we want a dark room) and with flashlight look carefully at the screen to see if you see a faint image of a picture there or not.

just replace the power supply(called inverter board) connected to the lcd panel lamp

Ok try this, at boot up press F8, when the Menu comes up, choose Safe Mode, but this time instead of going to the desktop, choose System Restore, follow instructions, and when the Calender type window comes up, simply choose a time BEFORE, the time it went faulty. This should completely restore you to working again. As long as there are NO other problems.

It is rear projection TV that use 3 picture tubes of red-green-blue to show color picture on tv front screen.
Do you see standby red light blinking when TV shuts off after showing blue image for a while?
If red standby light is blinking, please count it how many times it blinks, there would be 3 seconds pause between blinks so count pause to pause and post it here to find out possible solution.

It is the Monitor Cable connected to the CPU cabinet is faulty. Please check out the cable and its pin firmly.

Try to find the fault, may be the cable broken or tear up.

The following steps are how to examine what's wrong with your LCD monitors. After you turned it on and the screen went black, you have to check that if you can see the image on the screen or not by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor problem. This is because of the lamps inside screen. Some of them were broken and it is very easy to replace. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board. If you have soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It may cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or burn spot on the board because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better go get a technician to do so. Hope this help!! If yes the inverter Card/Backlight of the screen is having problem.
