I am able to see with the 20m Lens but once i insert the 5mm Lens it looses focus and i cannot see anything, i tried adjusting the focus again with no success. The worst thing that even at day light i cannot focus the 5mm lens on any far object. Is this a problem with the lens or the focus adjuster?

Turn the grey ring around the lens (where the light comes from) until the image is sharp.

What I would try to do is, loosen the screw so its not stiff to adjust, adjust the lens to the right position then tighten up the screw again. Hopefully this should work for you!!

in manual mode, will not try to focus itself, my be the manual auto switch is faulty, or the focus related mechanism not rotating the lens, open the lens carefully check the focus motor and gear set (engine is the technical term)

since you have then lens out, get a wide blade flathead and insert it in the smallest part if **** that it will fit into behind the focus ring and turn the blade like you are trying to widen the **** all the way around until it pops out into it's normal position. Getting the entire lens back in properly is a bit tricky since the threads are easily stripped. First screw it all the way back on and then check the focus on the screen. You want to see a crisp image in 3 if not 4 of the outer corners of the screen. It is best to use something with text that fills the whole screen so you can see the 4 corners as you adjust the focus. If the focus is good in the corners, leave it alone. If not,hold the back of the projector in one hand and forcefully push the lens into where you screwed it on and see if it pops into place. It really is trial and error. Once you have a clear picture it is a good idea to remove the top cover and glue all around the base of the tube where it screws on so it doesn't come loose again.

This is a known issue with Fuji S3000 cameras caused by dust and dirt that get in through the loosely mounted lens mechanism, there are only three solutions.

1. If under warranty you can send the camera in for repair.
2. Saturate around the lens with WD40 and wiggle the lens until it becomes responsive again every month or so.
   
3. Dismantle the camera and clean out around the internal gear-box and lens components about once a year.

TOO much magnification for that 3 inch telescope. The most you will get is about 120 power or so on perfect sky nights. Try a 10mm or 9 mm as your most powerful eyepiece.

50 times aperture is the maximum possible.

Try this first.

Set your lens focus to infinity and focus your screen at a far away object (like a distant lampost). If it,s not in focus, then you have a misaligned mirror. Adjust your mirror so that a infinity setting, the split-screen image merge well to form a well focussed image. Hope that helps.

Hi, I would assume that by "i have tried with the settings..." that you are referring to the Camera Properties in Windows. Perhaps you should try mechanical setting, that is manually adjust the focus of the lens. Around the actual lens to the front of the camera, rotate the stub/protrusion while watching the camera display on your monitor. Adjust to your preference. It may also be a good idea to increase the light in your work area. Hope this works out for you. Good luck and pls post again how things turn up or if you would need further information. Kind regards.
