The software installation file you have purchased is in "APK" format which is what Android will recognize as an application installer.
To install applications outside of the Market you must select/check "Unknown sources" which is located under "Applications" which is located under "Settings."
1. Connect the HTC Evo to your computer via it's USB cable.
2. Select mode of connection as "Disk Drive" (a menu with these options will pop up after connecting through USB).
After that is done, your computer will now recognize your HTC Evo as a Disk Drive.
3. Go to the location of the file you've download and want to transfer to you daughter's Evo- Select it, hold down "Ctrl" key while pressing the letter "c" (to copy the file).
4. Go to the location of the HTC Evo now known to your computer as a "Disk Drive" then hold down "Ctrl" key while pressing the letter "v" (to paste what you've copied).
Now that the file is on your daughter's Evo you simply need to:
1. Change the Evo's mode of connection from "Disk Drive" to "Charge Only" or just disconnect the USB cable.
2. Browse to the phone's app directory to start a file manager application (download one from the Market if you don't already have one- I recommend "ASTRO File Manager").
3. Navigate (using the file manager) to the file you've transferred to the phone and just launch it. The next prompt will ask if you want to install the application- select "Install."
Done.
Go to the website of the printer manufacturer. Click on DRIVER DOWNLOADS. Download the correct driver for the printer you want to install. Save the driver on your computer's desktop. In the Windows® control panel, click on the install drivers icon. Drag the downloaded driver into the HAVE DISK data field. Follow the instructions for installing a driver in Windows®.
Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
Yes, we used to connect to the fax machine to print via parallel cable, but our new laptop computer does not have a parallel port, so we connect via USB now to use the Brother 4100 Intellifax as a printer. It prints very nicely. We downloaded the driver from BrotherUSA.com http://www.brother-usa.com/Downloads/
and clicked on Fax Machines, then our Intellifax 4100e, then View Download and selected our operating system and language. Just a tip - When you decompress the download, in the location to decompress to, add a folder to hold the files named Brother4100 or something like that, then when you add the printer, select that folder as your "Have Disk" location. Hope it works well for you.
I have to ask. Did you install it via a disk that came with the printer? If so , did the disk specify that it was for the VISA version of windows?
Below is Lexmarks support website for your printer:
http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi
If you have a new computer there is an excellent chance that it came with Vista.
If you are trying to install the drivers using the disk that originally came with your printer, it will not have the drivers for Vista on it, to get the correct drivers go to the location:
where is says "search by printer model" type in T640 and the select your operating system.
If it still complains about the signature just ignore it and tell it to proceed, it probably just means that Lexmark never submitted the driver to Microsoft for testing and certification (Microsoft charges for that).
okay, I just bought this same product. You need to pop the disk into the laptop or computer. If you did not get the disk, get the printer out and set up, then, plug it and afterwards, plug the usb cable to the laptop/computer and the other side in the printer, that way, the computer can recognize the printer. If it still wont do it, call costumer support, maybe the printer and your device are just not compatible.... Good Luck!
Lexmark Z640 - Drivers & Downloads Download the software into your computer, locate downloaded files and start installation program. Start installation with printer USB cable unplugged, plug when required by software setup.
