I recently bought a used Dell E193FP flat panel LCD monitor that was working properly on the computer it was taken from. I tried plugging it into my Dell Dimension 3000 computer and the colors are all wrong. I've tried adjusting the colors with the buttons on the front of the monitor and also in control panel, but to no avail. Is there a driver or something I need to run the newer monitor on an older computer? Computer was bought in 2005 and has an integrated intel extreme graphics 2 video card installed. Thanks!

Thank you for answering my post. The pins were not bent. We have returned the monitor, since I had tried everything I could find to fix the problem to no avail. Don't know why it wouldn't work, but it worked for them so they have it back now. Thanks again for trying to help. blessings!

1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz (optimal) resolution is the maximum resolution with 16 color if the other computer had it on 32 bit color setting or the resolution of the monitor aspects ratio changed than it will not display anything on your computer
Solution is plug in your old monitor and change the settings to lowest with the aspect ratio as what the screen size is then plug in the new one that should do it

Dell monitor enters power save

try to reconnect the cables to ensure it's properly plugged in (if you have another monitor, you can try it to ensure that your system is running properly) If you narrow it down to a monitor problem, it's most likely the inverter/power supply board in the monitor. If it's covered under warranty, you can send it back to Dell and they should send you a refurbed unit. If not, the board can be as expensive as finding a decent used monitor on ebay that works.

Just plugged a Dell E193FP monitor into my emcahine - running XP - turned it on and video display said ''cannot display this video type''

The computer is not able to communicate with the hardware properly. It can be solved installing the Video drivers (The video card drivers AND the display drivers).

Check for updates with the manufacturer of the video driver.

To determine what Video card your computer has, just right click in MY PC - MANAGE - DEVICE MANAGER and click Video, check properties.

Good luck.

Dell e193FPc monitor

The backlight or inverter may be bad. With the monitor on and the room dark, hold a flashlight very close and shine it on the screen . If you can see the normal display the monitor is OK but the backlight or the inverter which provides proper voltage to the backlight has gone bad.

Will the E193FP work with my computer?

Hi,
I would suggest , check the monitor connections again. Dell flat panels are plug and play and donnot require additional drivers.
Make sure , you have not connected , both the analog (vga cable with a blue connector) and the digital (dvi cable with a white connector) to the back of your computer.
Refer to the the link below , to troubleshoot the monitor

LCD Monitor went black

Yes this can be fixed there are a ton of sites out there that have replacement inverters or backlights. A site I found called digitaltechinc.com has parts that can be helpful for this problem. Only if you are willing to patiently do it yourself! It really is not that hard! Hope this helps!
