The Magnetron has gone (yes it's really called that) that's the part of the microwave that emits radio waves and cooks your food... 30 years ago when this tech (Microwave cooking) was new and expensive it was cheaper to replace that part than buy new... now it's the other way around... at least you still have a working electric convection oven.
it's very rare that a Magnetron go bad, so look for an old one of the same model and use that one for parts if it's that loved.

In most cases, this is a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.
Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.
I would recommend that you contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer. You can find one here.

SOURCE: My microwave oven is not heating the food
HI, you will need to replace the heating device. This device is called the Magnetron and, it will cost you about $133.00. This is a repairable issue but, you will need to call for service. I do not recommend installing this device if you are not familiar with handling this type of tech.
SOURCE: microwave sparked out now it does not work
You had something metal inside the microwave. Do you have a rack inside on a revolving tray? On my microwave, if the foot of the wire rack is not on the revolving tray, it will spark against the floor of the oven. Microwave will go around round pieces of metal - it will spark if it finds a flat surface. I dont think you did any damage to your machine but try to not do this again.
I hope this helps you.
