The biggest difference between inverter and non-inverter AC is the fact that the motor of the inverter compressor has a variable speed. The speed of the non-invertor compressor is fixed. This means that it operates either at full or minimum speed. A censor in the invertor adjusts the power according to the temperature in the room, lowering the electrical consumption and saving energy.

Due to the sophisticated operational method of the invertor, its compressor does not work at its full capacity all the time. When the speed is lower, the needed energy is lower too and you pay less money for electricity.
As the compressor motor of the inverter air conditioner does not turn on and off all the time, but keeps working at low power, the operation is more quite.
The technology of the inverters not only makes cooling and heating more efficient, but it also makes the AC's life longer.
Last but not least, the inverter AC is able to cool or heat your room faster than the non-inverter. This is due to the fact that in the beginning of the process, the inverter uses more power than the non-inverter and diminish the power when it gets close to the desired temperature.

Either of the parts can be faulty or in some rare cases both. In most of such cases (HP-Compaq) that I received for repair, it was Invertor. Inspect the Invertor for any apparant physical damages (burnt coil or circuit components etc). Inverter can be checked by disconnecting the present CCFL and connecting a fresh/ working CCFL (Backlight) before actually removing the CCFL as it is difficult and unnecessary to take it out if its not the fault.

So, my advice is that you check the LCD display for replacement of Inverter . I have found a general link about CCFL replacement. Click here for detailed and graphical DIY instructions about LCD disassembly.
Make sure you take proper precaution while working inside LCD, as the inverter generates a very high voltage.

Hi,
Battery to invertor should be quiet clear. Attach the positive then the negative lead.

There needs to be a special socket in the wall. Buy a normal three pin socket. Go to the mains. Take the line coming in and connect it to the L ('Live') marked pin. It is left one. Now take the other pin and trace it back to where electricity was originally going. What you have done is basically placed a socket in the line. See diag below:


Now take a plug. see diag and connect so that it has live going into the invertor and invertor supply coming out.


So basically you have looped the supply thru the invertor.
Be sure to read the manual. Certain invertors may have other wiring.

Electricians are cheap. Get one. It will be worth it, in case you are unsure.

You should have checked the power voltage rating before using another power cable.

The computer memory or processor must have gone bad.

Check the power rating before connecting another inverter.

if your unit has inverter on it then your magnatron or possibly the invertor PCB is faulty, to determine which you will need to replace either the magnatron or the invertor, or both, which is an expensive repair either way, a DIY repair on either part can be dangerous without the correct tools and training to remove. if you feel competent then post back to me, but you will need a supplier for these parts.

Check the output voltage of the invertor board , if its 150 volt (point of cold fusion lamp connection) then the drive electronics of the invertor board from the motherboard is damaging the new invertor boards which you are trying to replace. Check input to the invertor board it should be 5 Volts and 12 volts .
