i have the same exact problem for the last 3 years.

  • blessedbyrd Jul 20, 2008

My hubby and I repaired this problem - today.

Okay, look underneath the control panel flap, there will be 3 screws, this is right on top of the oven door handle - just bend your head upside down and look up, or feel underneath the flap for screws. Unscrew these and your control panel should lift off. You will have access to everything. Take the ribbon off (it is clear with white stripes along it, it is a plastic ribbon) by squeezing each side of the attachment, the ribbon should lift off. Lift the plastic ribbon up out of the attachment and leave it out for about 33 seconds. After time is up, reinsert ribbon into its compartment. Wait 33 seconds, the control panel should return to normal. Your oven should work. This took all of 3 minutes to do. We also found our repair manual INSIDE of the oven.

Be Blessed with these tips. It worked for us! Saved a ton of money...$800 bucks bcs I thought we may need a new built-in oven.....take care!

Thank you so much. Had F0 error tonight, and oven kept beeping every 5 minutes... could only stop noise by hitting start and then off. Found you through google search.

We just fixed it thanks to your advise.

Note: plastic ribbon does pull out if little black things on side are slid upwards....

    Thank you!

I have a GE True Temp in-counter model JKP18BOD1BB which had the identical error and symptoms. The ribbon cable is accessed and unplugged the same way as above. Make sure you shut off the house breaker to the oven before accessing the panel. From a tip I read elsewhere, I would try to also carefully tease apart the two clear parts of the ribbon cable as far as you can (opposite the connector end... I wouldn't mess too close to the connector folded stuff). Insert a piece of paper that is cut to match the width of the clear ribbon cable between the two clear parts as far along the length that you can and mayble a bit into the slot where the cable goes into the control panel. This will keep the printed conductor lines on the clear plastic from "fusing" together again over time in the future. I don't know if the unplugging of the connector or the paper insert was the fix, but the F0 error went away and the oven functions normally.

I have GE Oven/Stove combo Model #326B1230P001. I get an error message F7 & Flashing E7 code and it beeps. How to fix this?

this error for GE means that your touch control panel has shorted and the entire touch control panel would need to be ordered and replaced if resetting the circuit breaker won't reset the issue.

I am getting an F0 error code on my GE JTP15. It was working and then just shut-off. Then the error code appeared. I removed power for 30 minutes but the oven control did not reset.

Error code f0

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F0 means a stuck/faulty touch pad. You’ll need to check the touch pad and if faulty replace it. However, usually the Electronic Range Control (ERC) is also replaced if this error cannot be cancelled. You’ll need to check and replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

326B1230P001 GE Double oven that displays ?F7? and beeps

I have a GE JT950 double oven that just did the same thing: F7 and beeps like crazy. I found solution on another post: an engineer figured out how to solve the issue without calling GE or buying parts. I just did it tonight and it worked fine. Here is a copy of the post:

Send an e-mail to Charlie at [email protected] for a fix-it that you can try. He explains a possible solution fully with his 'The Dreaded "F7" Error' solution. I actually found his information on another website when I did a web search for "GE Profile Oven F7 Issue". I sent an e-mail to him and he replied with free fix-it information. I am not a repair person myself, but, his instructions are very clear and simple to follow. I did the fix-it at no cost in approximately 10 minutes and it has solved my problem

GE Profile Performance Spectra Range error code F0

F0 - F1 - F7 Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on. Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

F0 error code on ge profile oven

Could be a stuck keypad. Try pressing all pads at random several times each to clear it.
If that does not work the ERC(clock) must be replaced.

F0 error code on GE Profile PT956 double electric oven

you can also put a piece of paper between the ribbon cable where it joins up before the connector. It has been reported that the cable will short in this area. Try that before spending more money since most of the F-codes appear to be cable related.
