Assuming that you are using windows platform, when USB cable removed and inserted, computer must make a sound signaling a USB device is inserted. If no sound or visual experienced, try another USB port and/or change cable.
Otherwise, (also assuming that there are no warning lights on the printer) you may want to rremove printer queue and re-install the driver.
Just try inserting it to another USB port in your computer. or maybe there's a problem w/ your wire cable from your mobile phone to the computer=>> better try to replace/check it w/ another wire cable connector ! Hope this idea will help :-)
I have the exact camera, when you plug it in does the USB cable show red? If so this means the cable and the battery are connected and the red is a charging status. If you can turn on the camera while it's plugged in then its not the cord or the camera but the battery. If it just fails to charge but does power up and connect via USB i would look into a new bettery. If the USB cable does NOT respond at all when plugged into the PC by itself then the cable is bad and you need a new one. It will flash red/green/yellow if it's 100% functional. If your cable does respond but does nothing when the camera is plugged in then it may also be the cable's connections or the camera's internal port has been damaged. If you want to make sure it is the battery then plug in your cable, wait for it to cycle through the colors and connect your camera WITHOUT the battery inserted. It should do nothing, then while its connected to the cable insert the battery, If the cable turns red but will not charge then it's 95% a battery issue.
But the camera has to work as a regular USB stick. Try inserting the USB cable in the PC and see what happens.
If nothing works, consider purchasing a Card Reader. You extract the SD card from the camera, insert it into the Card Reader and copy the pictures to the computer.
You say your HP Laser Jet 1010 USB cable does not connect to your PC? Let's see if you have the right cable. Go to the site below and look at the picture. It is a standard USB cable which fits in the USB slots in PC's.
Since that you already used different computer still its not detecting the camera It means the problem is either On the USB cable itself or on the camera USB slot. Because windows XP vista or Windows 7 has a generic driver for all the camera it should detect all the camera thats been inserted on the CPU.
try to used different USB cable and make sure the USB cable is MODEL U-8 thats the right cable for your camera
is the battery in correctly and is the usb cable fully inserted on the computer end if your going throug a usb multi-port hub make sure its not over loaded with too many devices
if no hub try a different usb port or a different cable
