There is no imaging devices in the list device manager what is needed ti install to have imaging device..that why my web cam not working my webcam the system not found..do you have free installer

Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager. (Or get to Device Manager any way you can.)

Look in the list of devices. Every part of your PC is listed here, whether it is plugged in outside or included in the plastic box that you call your computer. They are all separate devices.

Your camera should be listed under Imaging Devices. To see it click the Plus symbol + next to Imaging Devices. If it has a yellow symbol then it has a problem. Most likely is the need to install a driver. Click twice on the Camera and then Drivers and Update Driver.

go to logitech.com and go under webcams and look for yours then look for drivers under the webcam's page

Please check in the Device Manager under "Imaging Devices" whether the "Web cam driver is listed". If the Web cam driver is not listed then install the web cam driver either using the Recovery Discs or from the location "C:\Drivers". Please do restart the Computer after installing the driver. Even if the web cam driver is listed under the "imaging devices" in the Device Manager then right click on it and unistall then restart the Computer and reinstall it. Next, use any video utilities such as MSN or any other to check if the web cam is working normally. It's required to configure web cam in the utilities to be used with any other utilities.

Your webcam is listed as a Creative Labs Cam but I'm not positive on the model. Is the model (or name) of your cam intex 108 wc?

If you do have a Creative Labs Web cam, you can go to the support page on their Web site and find your Web cam, if you don't see an image of it then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the link provided if your product isn't listed. You can also search by the model or name of the camera.

in your YM.. open the Messenger tool bar.. then.. My Web cam.. then.. .Preferences.. then Camera source... and select the installed webcam.. and see how it works..

Go to Control Panel > System > Device Manager > Imaging Devices
Double click on the webcam listing, then click the Driver tab, then click uninstall.
Done.

Hope this helps, it is listed under Imaging Devices on Vista, I can't remember what it'll be under XP :)

you have not written what operating system you are running and which webcam you are trying to install.
The procedure to install the webcam is same for all webcams. I am asuming the you are using winXP and you are trying to install webcam. put the cd which came with webcam in the cd drive and install the driver.Mostly the cd will Autorun. After installing the driver connect the webcam .The operating system will detect new hardware i.e webcam. To see wether your webcam is properly installed on your system right click on mycomputer>manage>click on Device Manager . you will see list of all the hardware on your system. you can expand imaging devices . under imaging devices you can see your webcam installed. If your webcam is not properly installed you will see a red symbol on your webcam listed in there.

If the device is listed with no problems (no yellow exclamation or red /) Then you might want to try this web chat software.

If the device does have a ! or / it needs updated drivers or firmware.

Weird but worked for me for yahoo and messenger but not quickplay. If you have the Chicony web camera, follow these steps to download Acer webcam drivers.

1. Download Acer 5210 Chicony Webcam drivers.

2. Run the setup file.

3. Follow installer prompts then RESTART PC.

4. Ignore the 'installing drivers' popup.

5. Open up the Control Panel.

6. Open up the Device Manager.

7. Select webcam from 'Imaging Devices'.

8. Right click on webcam and select 'Update'.

9. Select 'Browse computer for driver'.

10. Choose 'Let me pick from list of devices on PC'.

11. Uncheck 'Show compatible hardware' checkbox.

12. Scroll down to Chicony manufacturer.

13. Choose the 'Acer Crystal Eye Webcam'.

14. Install even if a question pops up.
