Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

With the symptom you`ve described, "The dishwasher goes through the wash cycle but doesn't wash No water sprays at all"
this is most likely a plugged up sump or a worn chopper/impeller...but likely just clogged.

The first place to look for a remedy is the sump-well, wash pump area. You`ll need to remove the lower spray arm and then the filter below it.

1 ) Remove the turbo wash tube if applicable to your model, it pulls off, i.e.

Thed dishwasher goes through the - a6dcf7f.jpg

2 ) Spray arm removal. hold the center nut and spin the arm.

3 ) Now you can remove the upper spray arm supply tub or referred to sometimes as "rear feed cap".

a ) lift to depress the rearThed dishwasher goes through the - 87fb0d6.jpg/i>

b ) Then Thed dishwasher goes through the - 5f19a61.jpgeeder to the right ( clockwise ), i.e.

Then remove the four # 20 torx head screws holding the filter in place, and lift the filter out.

Below the filter you`ll find either alot of food debris, garbage etc. , but also a cover with either a single #15 torx head screw or it will simply be held with a lock tab which must be pushed to one side and the cover will pull straight up and out. ( I haven`t gathered my own photo`s of this area yet, soon to come )

Now you should see the chopper and screen assembly, it to can be clogged up pretty bad, clean it best you can...you don`t really want to remove this part.

If my explanation is not clear enough, here`s a link which provides a pretty good video of how to do this, these guys aren`t pro`s but the "how to" video is pretty thorough nonetheless.

Thank you for choosing FixYa and good luck.

Hi,

Take everything out of the appliance and take the filters out.
Check that these are clean and clear of any debris.
Check the spray arms, especially the holes at the ends, are completely clean and clear of any debris. (The end holes propel the arms and wash the detergent out of the drawer).
If you have any dishwasher air freshner or hanging things on the baskets, take them out.
Check the arms spin freely by hand.
Set the machine going on a wash.
Once washing, open the door and set the arms at a front to back position.
Close the door and let the machine begin washing again.
Listen to the sound of the water, can you hear it swishing?
Very quickly open the door and check to see if the arms are turning.
If they are turning, all well and good.
If not you need to check that there is enough water pressure being generated by the wash motor.
If the motor sounds as though it's struggling it could be down to debris within the pump or the pump is failing.

Check the spray arms and do the checks first.
If these are all OK, just come back and we'll dig deeper into the problem.

Let me know,so that we could proceed.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Defy dishwasher does not wash or spray the water but is filled with water and goes through it cycles, what can be wrong?

The motor that pumps the water out of the machine is the same motor that pumps thru the spray arms. The motor runs in one direction to pump the spray bar and in the opposite direction to drain the water out. look at the cycle timer. It switches the direction. If it proves good then the motor is bad.

Hello

Ensure the Frigidaire dishwashing machine is fully connected to a power supply. Shut the dishwasher door firmly and select a wash cycle. Press "Start" to begin. Check that the "delay start" option was not selected.

  • 2 Verify that dishwashing detergent is placed in the dispenser and choose a longer washing cycle for heavily soiled items. Do not overload the dishwasher, as this may prevent proper cleaning.
  • 3 Check the household water pressure, which should be between 20 and 120 PSI (pounds per square inch). A water pressure gauge can be obtained at most home repair stores or hardware stores.
  • 4 Turn on the hot water at the sink closest to the dishwasher prior to starting the dishwasher to raise the water temperature inside the dishwasher. Check the hot water temperature, which should be at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit for proper cleaning.
  • 5 Check the spray arms in the dishwasher and move dishes that may be blocking the water spray or preventing the spray arms from rotating properly.

    Sounds like water....dx doesnt work

2H means the machine is taking longer than 99 minutes to run a cycle. Start the cycle and wait 5 minutes, then open the door. If water doesn't look like it is spraying out the wash arms or slowly coming out the wash arms, then check to make sure the filter at the bottom is clean. If clean, then sounds like your circulation pump isn't running or impeller has came apart.

Dishwater fills with water, hot...but doesnt wash?

when in the wash phase, listen for a low hum near the wash pump. if you hear this it indicates the wash pump capacitor is faulty or something jammed in the pump.after that you will have to access the wash pump and check if there is any supply to it
