Remove the 4 gb card and turn power on, go into menu and scroll down until you find the section on picture deletion, erase all data in the internal memory, turn power off and install your memory card should be good to go.
One of two possibilities - either bulb is going bad internally or the connection is corroded. In either case when tapping it is making contact and turning light on. If it's an old bulb, just replace it and be done with problem.
It is far more likely that the fuse or ground connection is loose or corroded instead of a short. A short means the power is connected to ground and blowing a fuse. It could be internal to the monitor, but then the power LED would stay bright. If it blinks out as well, then it is not inside the monitor, but the wiring to and from it.
If it is the monitor, then if it is less then a year old, it must be covered by warranty. You may have to send it in however. And you should check it first with direct connections from a good power source and ground.
it sounds like the focus block or flyback is bad.sometimes you can put nail polish on the adjustments controls to make it stay.usually
they are marked from the factory with white marks check and see if they are aligned.but be sure somebody with tech-skills help you.the flyback usually has a screen & focus control.(the big red wire to the tubes or block)
