Green shading appears around faces of people on the screen

Have a four year old Samsung HDTV. Lately, we see green shading on the necks and faces of the people on the screen. Any ideas? Thanks!

Try adjusting your TINT control in the menu.

IF the problem seems to be in a surtan area of the screen, the light engine is bad. This is very expensive to fix. You might want to buy a new tv.

Green Spots on my Vizio VO42LF 10A

ok so what you need to do is have your tv degaussed...its basicly a strong electric magnet rubbed in fron of ur tv screen..you can buy a degauss for 30 us...or its cheaper to just take it to a tv repair...also some new computer monitors have a degauss setting..put the screens facing each other and hit the degauss funcion on the monitor..do it several times or till u see results.....enjoy

Thats a very good possibility. The bearings in the color wheel eventually wear out. Have you noticed any noises lately when the green is messing up.?

Side shadows on picture

it sounds as if there are speakers to close to the tv or the built in speakers are not magnetically sheilded properly (maufacturer defect) if u have or have ever had speakers on the left and right side of your tv then the magnets in them will discolor and distort the screen. sometimes even long after the speakers have been moved away from the tv it will still look that way. you may try going to the library( or online )and looking in tv repair books on how to build a homade degauser unless your tv has that feature built into it in the menu somewhere like some computer monitors do. I had placed the front speaker of a 5.1 surround sound system on top my tv and it cuased that same problem, but i found out that by placing a small round magnet with a hole in the center on top of the tv (after removing the speaker for good) right where the discoloration was.. had to flip it one side or the other to get proper effect...it immediatly took away most of the discoloration and over time it disappeared. I hope this helps. Please email me at [email protected] as to your conclusion in case it will help others. thanks, Adam
