4 beeps with pauses for 2 year old carbon monoxide detector

I'm pretty sure that indicates an alarm. The pattern is referred to as "temporal 4" which is the alarm pattern for CO. Either your device is in a bad place or there is an intermittent CO leak which is exceeding the ppm (parts per million) threshold for a given time period. The instructions for the device will tell you what that number is. If you have more than one of these, I would try swapping them to determine if the problen is with the device or the location. Good luck!

I have a nighthawk carbon monoxide detector but no instructions is 8 in he digital display box dangerous

8 isn't normally dangerous but depending on your health it could cause issues. The reading is the % of carbon monoxide in the air. 35% will make you sick or worse, in time. The lower the better. If you have 8%, find out what you are using that creates CO and vent it better. If you are using a space heater, find a way to get more fresh air into the room when you use it. I was nailed with CO poisoning about 20 years ago and I still have problems from it. It isn't a joke.

We have a Kidde Nighthawk Carbon Monoxide detector. Last week our breaker tripped and ever since then our detector has been beeping once every 15-20 seconds. The detector has a code 97 displayed. We can...

Haha, same thing just happened to me and really scared me. Thats not a '97' that is an upside down 'Lb' for low battery. According to the manual: "A 9V battery is needed. If battery is low or missing while the unit is plugged into a 120V outlet, an "Lb" message will display which will blink alternately with a the CO reading every second and the sounder will chirp every 15 seconds."

I have a NIGHTHAWK CO2 DETTECTOR, it reads ERR & i dont know what it mean?

Should be a Carbon Monoxide detector (CO). The ERR display means the CO sensor is probably shot. Unlike most smoke detectors, CO monitors have a limited life span. Same thing happened to me and had to get a new one.

I have a nighthawk carbon monoxide alarm which is showing nan error code. Please can you tell me what to do to rectify it? Thank you.

You can unplug the unit if it's an AC detector, change the battery for a new one and reset the Carbon Monoxide Detector. If that doen't work, you can have it checked by your local fire department. If the unit is more than 5 years old, it absolutely needs to be replaced.

Whenever in doubt about the efficiency of a carbon monoxide detector, a replacement is recommended. Yes, protection has a price, but a life cannot be replaced.

My nighthawk Kidde carbon monoxide detector keeps beeping every 25-30 seconds. Do I need to buy a new one?

Some models of Carbon Monoxide Detectors will give an audible beep every 25-30 seconds after it has sounded an alert alarm. This may have happened when there was noone home to hear it. A periodic beeping sound may also indicate it is time to change the battery.

Solution: Install a new battery and check your manual for instructions on how to reset the system. Check the expiry date on your unit, it needs to be replaced after 5 to 7 years, according to the manufacturer specifications.

If you are in doubt that your Carbon Monoxide Detector is not working effectively, REPLACE IT. Your safety and your peace of mind is worth it.
