I’ve decided to replace the whole assembly. The machine is almost 10 years old and the assemble is pretty grungy. I understand that I have to remove the inside door panel, but is the assembly pretty easy to replace as a whole?

I've already purchase the whole dispenser assembly. I'm
hoping that it's easy to replace. I'm not really handy with fixing anything (as
my wife can a testify to).

It is possible the latch, spring or the actuator needs replacement or adjustment.
The parts are shown in this diagram. Items 8,9,10 etc.

You will have to open the door inside cover to access these.

These are very simple to replace as long as you keep a record of what part has been taken from which area. Best to take a photograph of the things you are removing to get to the dispenser assembly. By the way make sure the dishwasher is plugged out from the mains power.

    Good luck.

Main Control Board

The main control board provides power to nearly every component of the dishwasher including the detergent dispenser. If the dispenser will not actuate the main control board might be defective. You should first check for more common parts. Many times control boards are replaced unnecessarily because the problem was not diagnosed properly.

Detergent dispenser not closing

split the door inner from the outer - screws round the periphery. you will need a multimeter check if there is a supply to the detergent dispenser when there should not be ie during rinse and hold program or before starting the cycle. if there is a supply then the module is faulty. if not then fault probably lies with the dispenser itself. having split the door you can see how to remove. there are two methods of fixing. most common is six screws holding clamps. some are a push and click fit

I have a bosch dishwasher model number SGS0902GB/05. I use tablets instead of detergent. I put the tablet in the Dispenser and close the lid, noproblem. I then set the programme and shut the door, I...

Hello Andrew,

I'm more than happy to give step-by-step instructions for replacing the detergent dispenser, however it's not cheap (about £50) and it probably doesn't need to be replaced. Some of the smaller components for the dispenser are available separately, so it would be better to work out what's wrong with it, before replacing any parts - or the entire unit.

The dispenser may be receiving an erroneous signal from the controller to open when the dishwasher is in delay start mode. To check this, switch the power off, insert a tablet in the dispenser, and slide the door closed. Make sure it clicks shut fully (push on the arrow on the door)and then wait for a few minutes to see whether it opens.

If the tablet will stay in the dispenser with the power off, there is nothing wrong with the dispenser. If it opens with the power off, you may just need a new dispenser door or a spring. Please try this simple test, then get back to me for further assistance.

BElectric

Our shu66c05uc Bosch dishwasher does not dispense the detergent.

Most likely the solenoid that operates the lever on the detergent door is faulty. Only solution is to replace the whole dispenser, unfortunately. It is possible that the controller is not activating the dispenser but less likely.

Bosch Aquasensor Detergent Dispenser door wont open during cycle

Behind the dispensor door there is a small selanoid you will need to replace this, test to see if its open circuit, alternatively you can just place the detergent in side the machine before you put it on a wash cycle is this would have the same effect. the only cycle you can not do this on is the one with the prewash, I think its number 1.
