My refrigerator is not cooling. I saw a fan working in the back. The refrigeraor is not cooling the food. the freezer is still cold.

Theres the problem an iced up freezer, the cold for the food compartment comes via a fan in the freezer, no flow, no cold, firstly defrost it completely, check fans are working, if they are ok then it's probably your defrost hester element.

Check your thermostat to see that it did not get changed from the cold setting, if it is ok then check to see that the fan that circulates the cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator is working. If it is not working then your refrigerator will not be cold. You will have to replace the fan if it is faulty.

Look on the back wall of the freezer for a ice buildup. If there is ice you have a defrost problem. The defrost timer is in the fresh food section inside the control panel.The defrost heater and defrost thermostat are behind the freezer back panel inside the freezer.
Also check the freezer fan. If there is no ice buildup in the freezer the freezer fan motor could be bad.

if it seems like the evaporator is getting cold then your sealed system should appear to be ok. you need the evap fan to transfer cold air into fresh food section. if not turning u need to replace fan motor. make sure your not getting to much frost build up on the evap.

3 possible problems.... Machine is possibly not defrosting (if this is it, eventually the freezer will not work as well) The damper between the two sides is possibly not operating, or the fan on the freezer side is possibly not blowing the cold air into the fresh food side.

Same problem here with an Amana refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. I removed the back panels and vacuumed dust and cat hair out. The back panel in the freezer was frosted over with ice on the bottom. I removed the shelves and food and used a hairdryer to loosen the panel. The ice maker made it harder to remove the plastic panel so I pulled it back and saw the cooling fins frozen solid. I used the hairdryer to melt the ice and a shop vacuum to collect the water. It works like new again.
