If you already change the STK still not working, next step you do is to checked the resistor; the transistor ;capacitor(electrolytic only) and the diodes only in the power Amp section, where you change the STK,checked them out that they are, connected to the pins of the STK, one cut out or breaks can cause no audio out,,most sign of spare busted is the resistor is going to change the value of the resistance or open ; the capacitor is shorted ;open or leak;the diodes shorted or open ;transistor shorted or open;;that are common defects, you better look first the resistor ,there is limiting resistor to limit the source maybe that is the problem also, try this option this very of that problem of yours ;if ever my answer help to uderstand the problem please rate me as a fixya...

Try this check the connection firts because that's one of the most common thing to check, then check the adapter switch left on (either on front or rear panel) and checj for missing jumpers on the back.... pre-amp out to main amp in, if still the same problem it will goes down it replacing a piece of sound amplifier inside it just liek what happen with mine.
Hope that helps...........

Check the last output stage before the speaker output. A blown diode may have caused back emf to blow the power transistor.

I have a VR-407 reciever and I am unable to get my CD/DVD rear outputs to work. I am hooking up a DP-3020 and I can get it to work in the Audio L/R jacks in the front. Is there something that I need to do...

A Kenwood VR-407 is a receiver and has an INPUT pair for CD/DVD, not outputs. Plug ANY functioning audio source (except a turntable) into it and select it on the front panel.

If your DP doesn't work on either I'd suspect something is wrong with IT.

I have a kenwood k-stat home receiver and it is stuck on mute. i dont have a remote with it and was wondering what button to push where it will get off mute.

hello, if you dont have the user manual you can get from this link
http://www.retrevo.com/support/Kenwood-VR-407-Receivers-manual/id/480ag200/t/2/
according to the manual i think you have turned of speakers, if so you can turn them on again.
as the users manual says it should be the 11th button group, you find this pair of buttons in the left side next to the power botton, you might have turned off speakers.

I am connecting an amplifier to my VR-407 to accomodate more speakers I have installed throughout my home. Where do I connect the amplifier?

Connect the amplifier input to the VR-407 using the receiver's REC OUT jacks for the MD/TAPE input on the back panel. This is a fixed line-level output for recording, and will work fine for driving the additional amp.

Sub woofer output port does not seem to work on my kenwood VR 407, checked sub woofer on another system - works fine, any easy solutions?

Is the 407 set up to drive the unknown sub. It's not just plug n play.

The manual will guide you, around page 15. Also refer to your subwoofer manual. Try retrevo.com for that one.
