Hello miss sally, hi, the operating system error may be caused by a faulty hard disk or hard disk connection cable, and the hanging thing is caused by a faulty memory module, so check then out first, swap a new memory module, and for your hard drive, take it out from your laptop and use a PC to test the drive (applicable only if your hard drive is sata.)

Boot into Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot. Right click My Computer and Manage. Check for hidden devices ubder View and delete all CD drives. Reboot and Windows will auto install.

You have a bigger problem if it fails to install and work. Then I would try re-seating the drive physically. GL

Hi. i got a dell inspiron n4010 laptop. my battery backup suddenly dropped to half. i bought the laptop just 25 days ago. what may be its cause?

I am glad to HELP YOU!

The problem that are you describing here occurs many times - even for the BRAND NEW laptops!
The RAPID DRAINAGE of the batteries can have multiple causes:
# a defective battery
# the humidity of the storage place
# a bad connector
and so on.
What I'd suggest you is to take back your machine to the store and to ask for a BATTERY REPLACEMENT. I assume that if you said you've bought your Dell 25 days ago it should be under some WARRANTY CONDITIONS...
The next battery you will gt do like this:
# attach the battery into its slot
# make sure your Dell machine is OFF
# connect the AC power supply into the wall plug
# with the machine still OFF let the battery fully charge for AT LEAST 16 HOURS.

My best regards!
... and don't forget to RATE, please...

Dell Inspiron E1705, Faint Black Screen on Battery Power

the first thing i would do is do a bios update for the machine whilst using AC power, that may well iron the problem out, if not then there is a problem with the laptop itself i.e. a power drain, sizzling and popping noises is not good at all and could damage the machine further, remove the battery and check the connections on the laptop, dust and hair conduct electricity, it could be as simple as that, it is also a known fact that some lithium batteries are faulty and have been known to blow up whilst in use.
Go to the laptops support website to find out if they have been having problems with batteries and if there any returns proceedures

best regards
