Our new Toshiba SDV398KC2 will not play a DVD. It is like it is on the wrong channel. It shows the DVD playing with the counter but does not show it on the TV. Can you help?

I've seen this behavior before.

For this model, I *think* that you need to use the component connections/input in order to view the DVDs. If VCR shows ok when using the cable, but not the DVD (and it seems to work since it goes up as if playing), try to connect the component (blue/green/red connectors) and it should work.

Don't forget to switch input on your TV to component.

P.S. If you have HDMI on both this dvd/vcr & your TV, it should work with that too.

Try a different channel on your TV Some times it may be AV1 or AV2 on the TV that you have to connect to. The DVD should also show a "start up" screen on the TV to show you that it has connected properly.

The TV needs to be on channel 3 not channel 3.1 because is a digital channel and the signal from the VCR is analog. Tune the TV to channel 3 to get the analog video from the VCR.

DVD Player won't show recordings on my TV screen
put the dvd player on the same channel as you set your Tv when wathing direct tv. and try recording

if you are using rca push on cable yellow,red ,white set to your A,V audio,video channel

when recordining you will be changing channels on the direct tv box

do you have a manual for dvd player read that really good that might help.

Will not show picture on disc
Check the RCA wire or fiber optic conection. If you use RCA wire be sure you put Video output from your DVD to input Video of your tv set.
