Drivers side window

I went to roll down the window(electric) and it has come off track. Can I get in to the door panel a silicone it back into the track? Not sure how to get the door panel off because I can't see any screws. I am an ex-beetle owner(1965,67, and 68) and they just popped off with clips. I would hate to do damage to this one, it's my pride and joy. 175,000 miles and running strong. I have the window up an in track now, but if I roll it down, and come up it drops to the front.

Hi, callen

Look under the door pocket, you may find some deep recesses inside which are some securing screws.

Look around the handle which you use to pull the door shut, it may have screw covers which need to be popped out.

Look behind the door lever which you use to open the door, I think there may be a screw cover in there with a screw behind it.

And last but not least. if your door panel has one of those little tweeter speakers built into it as well as the main speaker, then pop the speaker out and you may find a screw behind there.

Very best regards

Geordie

Driverside window

Try spraying well with silicone spray down sides where window runs in felt tracks. You may have to pull panel and spray grease on track inside door too, but see if that helps first. Work it up and down if you can and give 2 or 3 good rounds of spray, especially lower and get it to run down below door panel wiper.

Drivers side window wont roll up all the way but goes down normally..

Get a can of spray silicone lubricant, and using the nozzle tube, spray down the front and rear guide tracks of the window. Run the window up and down a few times to distribute the lubricant, and the window should work fine.

How to put window on passenger side back on track

take the door panel off... put the window in down position... now you should be able to work the window up with your hands and you will be able to see inside the door where the tracks are and where the window needs to go... just line it up in the tracks and let it come down into place... you will need some good adhesive or silicon in the bottom track which holds the window in place and keeps it from being able to get out of the tracks ...put the adhesive in the bottom track before you push the window all the way down into the bottom track... roll up the window all the way but do not roll it down again until the adhesive has had time to dry fully... replace door panel

My 97 4 door Honda Accord windows have always been slow to open and close - they drag really bad and now my drivers side window has fallen off the track and will no longer roll up properly. I have tried...

you need to replace window rubber runners to cure this problem.hell of a job......or you could try silicon, with the windows down place a small amount onbottom of runners then wind them up then down several times to spread silicon around try not to get it all over the glass......

The drivers side rear window does not work. It does side down, and when the power switch is press the motor turns on. could the window be off its track or does the window unit need replaced?

It sounds like the window may be off its track. All that needs to be done is to remove the inner door panel. Be careful to pry the clips very gently. They break easily. However, most auto parts stores carry replacements. Once the door panel is off, remove the plastic sheeting that covers the door frame. It's attached with a mastic adhesive.
Once you have a clear view of the window rail, carefully pull the pane up and set the glass on the track. You may need to apply some silicone in the track to keep the glass in place.

Then, test the alignment by pressing the power button and roll the window up and down. With the window closed, replace the plastic sheeting and the door panel.

That should do it.

Power window on driver side door sticks

Yes the door's rubber window guide becomes dry and needs to be lubricated with a special silicone lubricant, go to Napa and ask for this silicone lube then apply it to the grooves located around the inner perimiter of the door window frame, sometimes it is neccessary to remove the door panel to access the lower window guides, if you remove the door panel becareful when removing clips along the lower part of panel you can damage the panel using a screw driver the sell a tool for this it looks like a screwdriver with a Y shape at the end. If this doesn't remidy the problem you more than likely have a worn out window motor that needs replacement.
