Does not shut off when tank full, water leaks all over the floor if I don't watch it constantly

Sounds like the float valve inside tank may be stuck in closed position. Calcium buildup is very common. Good luck Juliana. Unplug and empty tank of any water and look for the float valve it should be near top of tank. Use a small bucket and mix vinegar and water and brush. Scrub that valve. Clean it up

The dehumidifier is shaking and is not extracting water

It sounds like something is in the fan or has it to be come unbalanced. It appears not to be moving enough air. It is also possible it is the compressor. You will know as you get into it.

Power cord went bad...i need a new one....where do i get this?

Unfortunately, Windchaser has been out of business for about 6+ months and replacement parts are like looking for a needle in a haystack. However, I suspect that a small appliance repair shop can help you. As they stock or can order interchangeable cords for appliances like yours. If you plan on this being a DIY project, write down the color coding of the wires of your defective cord and where they are connected, before disconnecting it. This will save a lot of head scratching, when you install the new cord.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a Windchaser dehumidifier Model WDH928. The problem is that it does not automatically shut off when the tank is full. The water just flows over the tank and out. I've had this for years and it...

The float valve sensor in the bucket is either stuck in the down position or has broken entirely. Accessing the interior of the tank is the only way to know. I would recommend that you use a continual drain hose, but that is not recommended, as the coils need some water in the tank to cool.

The real downside is, that Windchaser has been out of business (phones disconnected, website down, etc) for several months and parts are extremely had to find.

I hope I was of some help to you. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

My WHD928 won't start. Plugged in, tank is in correctly- but no go. The lights don't even come on. Is it terminal??

I hope it's not terminal, as Windchaser is no longer in business. Remove and check the top of the water collection bucket for a float valve. It may be stuck in the "UP" position. If it is, jiggle the arm to make it return to the "Down". While you have the bucket out, look inside the bucket holder. On the rear wall of the holder you should see the bucket removal safety switch. It should look like a plastic trigger switch. With the unit ON, activate the switch with your finger. If the unit does not turn ON, then the switch is at fault. If it turns ON, then the bucket was not making contact with it, when it was last reinstalled. Reinstall the bucket "squarely" from top to bottom into it's holder. Making sure that it does not tilt down at the bottom when installed and makes contact with the switch.

If the unit did not turn On when you tried to activate the Bucket Removal Safety Switch, it's time to start shopping for a new dehumidifier. As there are no parts available for Windchaser units.

I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Hose Drainage

yes, that is what the knockout port was designed for. Make sure the hose you get does actually thread onto the hose connection port before you punch out knock out. The hose should be a standard garden hose connector.
