Try this one if this wont work you really need to do some manual adjustment to align it.

Mute, 1, 8, 3 = Brings up the service convergence grid
Arrow buttuns = Move cursor around grid
7 = Selects Red to be adjusted (a R should appear above the letters VGA)
8 = Selects Green to be adjusted (a G should appear above the letters VGA)
9 = Selects Blue to be adjusted (a B should appear above the letters VGA)
Press 4 once to select Line Adjustment; Press 4 twice to select entire Grid Adjustment
Channel up/down adjusts convergence up/down
Volume up/down adjusts convergenge left/right
Button under 7 = turns Red gun on/off
Button under 8 = turns Green gun on/off
Button under 9 = turns Blue gun on/off
When done press Add button to save adjustments

1 is the factory unconverged
2 is factory converged
3 is recall last saved setting...

Hi there!

This needs a physical adjustment rather than electronic.

On the projector module, there will be coils above, below, left and right. If there is an adjustment ring to move them a little, then do, otherwise it is the base module which will need to turn a few degrees.

It may even be out of a retainer clip.
Hope this helps you.

It is easy to fix alignment problem by just adjusting the settings in your samsung tv

  • Anonymous Jun 20, 2008

just see the display settings in which there will be separate menu for horizontal and vertical alignment

  • Anonymous Jun 23, 2008

Horizontal position may be set via a switch or jumper, a pot, or (mostly in B/W TVs) a set of rings on the CRT neck.
Horizontal size should be set so that there is about 10-15 percent overscan left and right. This will allow ample margin for power line voltage fluctuations, component aging, and the reduction in raster size that may occur with some VCR special effects (fast play) modes.
Many sets no longer have any horizontal size adjustments and depend on accurate regulation of the voltage to the horizontal output stage to control horizontal size. There may be a B+ adjustment to perform first.
On those that do, the adjustment may either be done by setting the B+ voltage, by a pot, or a width coil in series with the horizontal deflection coils.

Some of the newest sets control all these parameters via settings in non-volatile memory and use service menus accessed via the remote control for nearly all setup adjustments.

Convergence on RCA can only be done by service center with RCA Chipper Check computer interface box. It looks like possibly missing -15 volt or +15 volt supply to digital convergence circuit, could be a bad IC.

The service manual is available here: http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/34617/Samsung_HC-R4755W.html It's a 6 part .rar file, download all the files and get the program called 7zip to open it. The manual alignment procedure will be in there.

I have a Samsung projector - 4b395ec.jpg

  • Jaime Hernandez Jun 20, 2008

You can try to autofocus your TV and see if that works. If it doesn't work it means there is a defective component(s) in the convergence board.

  • Jaime Hernandez Jun 20, 2008

You can also read the posts from here to know the parts that will need to be replace.

It might not a DIY project if those parts need replacing.

You need a manual Aligment. If you give me the make and model i could try and find the service manual. If you are inquiring on doing it yourself. Although i do not recommend this unless you are very confident in your ability to do so.

Hour glass cannot adjust red horizontal convergence

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Fine tuning grid on my Samsung HDTV with remote.(BP59-00048)

To adjust manual convergence on your projection TV, follow theses steps:
  1. Turn your TV on.
  2. Let it warm up for 30 minutes.
  3. Press the Menu button on your remote. The Main menu appears.
  4. Use your remote to select Function, and then press the joystick.
  5. Select Convergence, and then press the joystick. The Manual Convergence screen appears.
  6. Select Red, and then press the joystick. A series of crosshairs appears on the screen.
  7. Select one of the outside crosshairs by moving the joystick up/down/right/left or by pressing the 2 (up), 4 (left), 6 (right), or 8 (down) buttons on your remote. The method you use depends on the model of remote you have. Note: You must do the outside crosshairs first.
  1. In the crosshair you selected, if you can see a horizontal red line, use the CH up or CH down buttons to move the line so that it is superimposed on the horizontal center line of the crosshair. Note: Make the single horizontal line as white as possible.
  1. In the crosshair you selected, if you can see a vertical red line, use the Vol + or Vol - buttons to move the line so that it is superimposed on the vertical center line of the crosshair. Note: Make the single vertical line as white as possible.
  1. Repeat for all outside crosshairs, and then for the inside crosshair.
  2. Return to the Manual Convergence Screen, and select Blue, and then press the joystick.
  3. Repeat Steps 7 through 10 for Blue.
  4. Press the Menu button on your remote to exit.
Important: The directions above work for most Samsung Rear Projection TVs. Yours may be different. For exact directions to perform manual convergence, see your user's manual. If you don't have your user's manual on hand, click HERE to view your manual on line.
If you cannot get your Projection TV to converge, it may need to be serviced. To arrange a service appointment, call Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-Samsung (1-800-726-7864). Have your TV's model number and serial number on hand when you call.

Projection red is above other colors

Look in your menu for something called "horizontal static convergence" or just "convergence". Adjusting this will align all three tubes electronically. If physical adjustment is needed, then you have to do this manually inside the Tv. keever

Distorted Color and geometry of Picture

I've posted this solution several times but here goes. Try setting up the convergence through the menu by accessing the convergence setup menu. If this fails to work you have a bad digital convergence box and need a tech to replace it. About $60 to $100 fix.
