I have a Canon Pixma 170 printer. I'm getting an error message of a paper jam and there is no paper in the printer. The cartridge cable is stuck on the right of the printer and is not sliding back to the left so I am not able to access the cartridge. Not sure what to do. Can you help me? Thanks. Mary Ann

You may have a piece of paper left inside. If the paper tears and a piece remains inside the machine, open the
Scanning Unit and remove it. Be careful not to touch the components inside the machine at this time. After removing the paper, close the
Scanning Unit, turn the machine OFF and turn it back ON.
If you tried to print Credit Card-sized paper in the landscape orientation you can get <PAPER JAMMED> or <E,3> displayed on the LCD/LED, remove the
paper following the procedure below.
1. Load Credit Card-sized paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder one sheet at a time.
Do not load it in the landscape orientation.
2. Press [ON/OFF] on the machine to turn OFF the power.
3. Press [ON/OFF] again on the machine to turn ON the power.
The paper is fed and the jammed paper is ejected accordingly.
If you cannot remove the jammed paper or the error still persists, contact a Canon service representative.
