Try manually opening the eject tray by inserting a paperclip in the pinhole you will normally find under the eject tray. once it has opened try to pull it slightly with some pressure then press the button again. this can be a mechanical problem where the tray looses its synchronize sequence with the motor

My compaq presario recovery cd ask for A:>>what is

Desktop or Laptop ????....
Unfortunately, it is likely that your computer will encounter some form of system error, malware function or hard-drive crash that causes the operating system to become unstable.
To help computer users resolve these issues, HP includes the HP Recovery Manager in each Compaq Presario.
Use the Recovery Manager to recover your system without the need for any additional software CDs, technical support or repair service.
The recovery process should only be used as a last step in troubleshooting your computer, as all personal data files will be erased during the recovery.

Close any programs running on your computer and remove any unnecessary hardware devices that are connected to the computer.
Restart the computer. Press the "F11" key once your computer begins to start up again and before the Windows logo appears.
The HP Recovery Manager will automatically launch.
Click the "System Recovery" option and click "Next." Select "No" in the Microsoft restore window that opens and click "Next."
Select the "Backup Your Files First" option and connect an external hard drive or insert a blank DVD or CD to store the backup files.
Follow the instructions in the wizard to select the files you want to save.
Click "Next" to begin the restore process.
The Recovery Manager will reformat the hard drives and recover the system to a functional operating condition.

When i try to install the Ethernet Driver for my OptiPlex GX270 it doesnt install properly. The installation process doesnt respond anymore and shuts down. Any suggestions?

Right click on My Computer and go to Properties, once there go to Device Manager, find the network card (it should have an exclamation mark next to it), right click the device and update driver software, choose to browse to a location and then browse to C:\DELL\, you will find the drivers in a folder that is named with letters and numbers identical to the filename for the driver installer, the 'OPEN' button will gray out until it detects drivers in the folder, once it is clickable again, click it.

It doesn't open by pushing the button and I can't find a hole to manually open it. there is a hole for the cd drive underneath the dvd drive.

Try opening "My Computer" and right click on the drive - choose "Eject"
Be patient if it doesnt open straight away, if you press the button multiple times, or choose eject many times it can get stuck in a cycle of open/close routines.
Also try rebooting and then the 'my computer' eject way again

Well we have a acer computer and the cd drive is stuck

If pressing the eject button does not eject the tray, look for the small pin hole on the cd drive and insert a paper clip to press that hole. It would manually eject your CD tray. Hope this helps.

I have not got the voice of my computer back.plz help me

Hi aishwaryasmr,
I am not sure that you have the correct audio driver software for your, Compaq Workstation AP550 Series 158272-001MB, Desktop PC. Please keep in mind Compaq does not support win XP. Only win 98 & a few others. The drivers for this motherboard is listed at this link:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=100747&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=96463&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=20
There is a drop-down window to change language if needed. (Above link).
To see all operating systems supported for this Compaq click this next link:

How to install the audio driver? Create a folder on your desktop & name it " Audio ".
Download the *.exe file into the Audio folder. Run the *.exe & save the files into the Audio folder.
Next open control panel. Open the System icon. The " System Properties " window will open.
Click the hardware tab & than click the device manager button. A window like this should open;
83a3b2e.jpg Find & open, " Sound, video and game controllers ". This should already be opened.

Right click once on the yellow ! explanation point or the yellow ? question mark & left click once on update driver. Windows hardware wizard will open. Click No, not at this time. Than click the next button. Another window will open. Left click once in the circle next to, Install from a list or specific location (Advanced). Than click the next button. Again, another window will open. We want to remove the green check mark next to, Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...). Click the green check mark once & it will go away.
Click the browse button, click the + sign next to my computer. Find the desktop folder
You created & named, Audio. Open it. Left click the setup.exe file once so it is high-lighted
& click OK.
Windows will install the driver software automatically. Once completed. Close all opened windows & restart you’re system. Test your audio. If you intend to use a mic, you will need to set this up through control panel. Open, Sounds and audio device. Click the Voice tab.

Good luck aishwaryasmr!

Optical drive won't detect CDs but will detect DVDs

This is another Vista issue that Microsoft has not fixed.
I have noticed alot of these includes the Optical drives.
So try this. It works for most people running Vista.
You need to edit your registry.

Click the Start button, click run, type in the window regedit than click OK
Close any opened Keys.
Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE; than open SYSTEM; next open CURRENTCONTROLSET; than open CONTROL; than open CLASS & find
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} listed in the right half of the window right click on LOWERFILTERS & left click delete, then right click on UPPERFILTERS & left click delete.
Exit the registry, and reboot the laptop.
Hope this has helped.

Good Luck & kind Regards.
