I usually disconnect the fan and soak it in alcohol to remove the grease buildup from cooking oils and animal fat. This fixes most of the fan motors I have ever dealt with.
Remember that these fans do not have bearings. They float on a brass bushing which is why the fan eventually becomes caked with grease and slows down.
how do you soak this part in alchol - do you soak the whole thing or a portion of it? In a shallow pan like a pie plate? how long do you soak it for and then, how long do you leave it to dry before re-installing? Are you using standard rubbing alcohol?
Thanks Bob - we cleaned the fan with contact cleaner and it now spins freely. Convection is back to working for us! Thanks for the advice - worked like a charm!

Good Afternoon Gwen - Try reprogramming the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the unit back on. If issue persists, then the unit could possibly be experiencing an issue with a wiring failure, EOC (electronic oven control), sensor probe and/or faulty bake or broil element. I would strongly recommend consulting a professional to narrow down the precise issue before investing in parts that may or may not be the root cause.
