The 2015 Nissan Altima does not have a mute button for the Audio system. To unmute the Audio system You will have to turn the volume knob clockwise. If this does not fix the problems with the Audio in the vehicle You can try and attempt a full reset of the radio in Your car. To do this You will turn the ignition key to the "on" position and turn Your radio on, wait ten seconds and then turn Your radio off. Depress the radio power button again and wait for reset. Alternatively, enter Your dealer provided radio code to reset. You can also check to see if You had a call and if You did not press the "call hang up" button on the steering wheel while not on a call it could mute the radio so press it again to un mute it.
Try performing a soft reset. Disconnect the unit from any external power supply. Depress the reset button behind the flip up antenna. Reconnect the unit to the power supply and let it should work normally.
If the soft reset does not work, try performing a hard reset. Caution: Performing a hard reset will erase all user information including favorites and bookmarks and restore the unit back to factory settings. Be sure to save any information before performing the hard reset. With the unit off, press and hold the lower right hand corner of the screen while turning the power on until a pop-up appears. Press "Yes" to restore the unit back to factory settings.
Unplug the unit. Using a ball point point push down the reset button. While pushing the button down, power up the unit. Continue to hold the button down for 15 seconds or until you get a visual indication on the front panel.
You have not mentioned the model/make of the set. Normally depressing the same button a second time will reset the mute to the origianl state. You can also reset by disconnecting the power and resetting the memory setttings. If you have a remote conttrol check for the mute button, it isnormally indicated by a slash on the speaker logo. Hope this helps. Good day
Hit the menu buttom, go to settings, then go to volume and see if it is muted. Sounds like the mute or volume down button got inadvertantly hit and turned down or muted. If this does not work, turn the unit over and look under the fold up antenna for a reset button. Depress this button until the unit restarts and should reset the unit back to factory default settings and get you on your way. Good luck!!! If these don't help you, call the garmin support number at :1-800-800-1020. Hope this helps!
Note: It may be necessary to depress the power button more than once to properly initialize the power management circuitry before the unit comes on.
Note: It may be necessary to connect AC power to the unit and allow it to charge before attempting to apply power. The unit will not power up if the battery voltage is below a safe operating level.
Please refer to the leaflet "NEC MobilePro 900, Performing a Hard Reset" that was shipped with the unit for the procedure to perform a hard reset on your MobilePro 900.
