You can't uninstall Windows XP, but you can install another version of Windows, which then replaces Windows XP. You can either format your hard disk and then install another operating system or you can keep your XP with the new operating system.

You should always run Windows Update until your system is fully patched.

But, you might want to check with your sound card vendor to be sure there are drivers for W2003. They may be different than the XP versions.
