There is a service error.
Press on the button once to see the code and refer yourself to the service manual to see what it means.

Printer is recognized, doesn't print.

Try to download and install the driver from the Lexmark website. Here's the link: http://bit.ly/cbIao7. Choose the operating system of your computer by clicking on the Microsoft, Macintosh, Linux/Unix, or Others dropdown found below the page. Then, choose the correct driver compatible with your computer's operating system. Install the software. Hope this helps but if you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get right back to it. Thanks.

How to install a Lexmark Optra E310 printer without the software

This is an older printer. Lexmark support has driver files available for this model, but the most recent one appears to be for XP.

If your operating system is newer than XP, this printer may need to operate with the driver that you can auto-download from Windows Update.

On the tabs, click the one for your OS. Download the correct driver file for your system.

I have a Lexmark 13t0101 that prints but makes a loud noise like a gear stripping. The paper comes out wavy from side to side like it has been hot. Any suggestions? ken bagwell

The printer you actually have is a Lexmark Optra E310 or 312. The number you gave was for a toner cartridge that goes into the printer.

Sounds like your having an issue with the fusing assembly in the printer. Here's a link for the Lexmark service Manual that will walk you though testing diagnosing and resolving the issue. If you need the part I'd recommend contacting Dale @ Seattle Platen - 1-800-221-2388. He has complete availability for Lexmark parts and much cheaper than retail.

Here's the manual:

Hope that helps you.

Light printing.

Try cleaning the transfer roller.

take out the cartridge look inside at a black roller kind of spongy

clean it with a clean lint free cloth.

It could be that the toner is bad if it's a generic, did it start when you put in the new one?
