Cant get picture on my tv. its a normal tv (no hd) but tried on mates hd tv and the message on the tv says MODE NOT SUPPORTED. Howdo i get my ps3 to work on my normal tv?

Do one thing While PS3 is in standby mode press and hold the power button on the frond panel of PS3 for 30 seconds (factory reset). After doing this you will get video from its composite video.

Also check the hdmi If you didnt get the video through HDMI then,
PS3 out puts Full HD 1080P video through its HDMI out put. IF your tv doesn't support Full HD then it will display format not supported or Software not support.
If you want to get video through HDMI then do the following.
Connect the PS3 to any Full HD tv (friends or relatives) and go to its menu ,select HDMI settings. then down scale the video from 1080p to 1080i.
After that connect the PS3 to your tv you will surely get the video.

My brother had this problem too I think it happen when u have been using the pa3 with a non hd tv and then switch to a hd tv, try hooking it up to a normal (older) tv to change the resolution to sd (standard definition) then hook it back up to a hd tv and it should put up a message saying it's detected a hd source and prompts u to change it. When changing the display mode of the PS3 you must be in the correct mode and be using the correct wire. If in the shop it was last set up in HD mode, then you must be using an HD cable (component cable(wire with red/yellow/white) will not work. Also, make sure that your TV can handle the resolution it is set in. If your TV at best handles 720p and the PS3 is set in 1080, then you will have to hook it up to a TV with 1080 to change it back or you will not get a picture.

try video reset

when ps3 is in standby mode(red light)
press and hold the power button till you hear a second beep.

standby mode press hold power........"beep"......"beep"..release power button
after plugging in the hd cables

start your system and hold the power butten un til you hear a beping nose and that should work

Try this

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.

Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.

Shut down your PS3 then restart by pressing and holding the power button.This will reset your PS3 to its most basic 480p graphics mode so you'll be able to see enough to choose RGB SCART, component, HDMI or whatever from here.

Maybe your TV is not made for HD from the Sony Console. Try calling Sony Customer support, then your TV's brand Customer support. That will tell you if your TV Model allows the HD from the PS3. Remember though, PS3 Uses Blu-Ray. So you need Blu-Ray for your TV. Hope this helped.

i had the same problem, but the reset worked for me, hold down the power button until u hear the "beep"
