20x Dual Layer LightScribe DVD Writer ±R/±RW/RAM tray opens every time i power my pc up and i have to physically hold it closed

If your LG SecurDisc 20x Internal Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Super Multi Drive w/LightScribe does not read disc, burn cds or dvd, then it means there is a problem with the lens of the LG SecurDisc 20x Internal Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Super Multi Drive w/LightScribe.

You will have to replace the LG SecurDisc 20x Internal Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Super Multi Drive w/LightScribe or have the lens replaced.

Be sure not to use the LG SecurDisc 20x Internal Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Super Multi Drive w/LightScribe to watch movies as that weakens the lens easily.

Should be IDE cable...IDE interface according to the specs. You computer has IDE connections so the drive should work.

Try a lense cleaner something like the above - if that does not work then you will need a new dvd writer drive.
