Unfortunately, nothing that you suggested worked:

All toner cartridges are full ... the control panel is not indicating a toner cartridge is empty.

Pressing the Rotate Toner key does not work ... it will not rotate from the toner cartridge it wants (switches between yellow and cyan).

In the Status Display, all selections in the menu under "Printer" are grayed out and unavailable.

When I close the printer top the printer begins to "warm up" then after about 3-5 seconds, it immediately lights up "error" ... does not indicate any toner cartridge by lighting up ... then I get the message(s) described in my original desdription.

  • connie15 Nov 17, 2010

Yes ... I tried everything that I could. I hope you received my message to that effect. All cartridges are full, the panel is not indicating any cartridge as low/empty. The "Rotate" button will not operate ... when I get the error messages (for yellow and cyan) it is rotating to the color it wants, but replacing or reinstalling the cartridge does not change anything; the error message on the computer monitor just switches back and forth between the two colors.

I have not tried the Mode Setting suggestion as all options under the "Printer" option on the menu bar are grayed out and unavailable.

Hi Connie,

If you take out all the toners you will find a contact at the bottom where the chip from the cartridges touch , these three springs work loose.

If you notice them loose, you need to take the black clip out split it and solder them back on; that will sort the problem out.

CLICK HERE to download Service Manual for future reference (Its for MC 2300, works for 2400 series as well) Troubleshooting with service manual is on Owners risk.

There are two ways to fix this problem

1. Clean any toner dust from the small microchip contact on each cartridge, (which I assumed was the first thing you did) you can use a cotton moistened with alcohol or an eraser to clean the contact surface.

2. Clean any toner dust from the 3 copper sensor contacts inside the printer where the contact of the cartridge is touching, check also if this is misaligned, manage to access inside the printer and remove this. If you take out all the toners you will find a contact at the bottom where the chip from the cartridges touch , these three springs work loose , so you need to take the black clip out split it and solder them back. Clean the dirt (much loose toner) that was floating around inside it, realigned the fragile little contacts and reassembled it. That will fix it. The only hardest part is disassembling it.

Hope that helps.
thank you for using Fixya

1. Check the control panel to see which color of toner is empty. As an example, the procedure for replacing the cyan toner cartridge is described below. I f the Auto Toner Replace check box of Mode Setting in the Status Display was selected, printing stops when the toner is empty, and the empty toner cartridge moves so that it can be replaced. .

2. Press the Rotate Toner key. The lit indicator for the cyan toner goes off, and then the toner cartridge carousel rotates. When the cyan toner cartridge is positioned so that it can be replaced, the indicator for the cyan toner lights up again. Press the Rotate Toner key once to move the cyan toner cartridge so that it can be replaced. With each additional press of the Rotate Toner key, the black, yellow, then magenta toner cartridge moves so that they can be replaced. The indicator for the toner cartridge that was moved so that it can be replaced lights up.

Pull the lever, and then open the top cover. If there is paper in the output tray, remove it, and then fold up the output tray before opening the top cover. Do not touch the transfer belt.

4. Install the new drum cartridge.

5. Carefully close the top cover.

The printer must complete a calibration cycle (less than 2 minutes) after the drum cartridge has been replaced. If you open a cover before the printer is reset, the calibration stops, then starts over again after the cover is closed.

Also try:

1. Double-click the magicolor 2400W Status Display icon in the System tray, ORgo to Start/Programs/KONICA MINOLTA magicolor 2400W Utilities and select KONICA MINOLTA magicolor 2400W Status.
2. In the resulting dialog box, select Printer from the menu bar, then select Mode Setting from the drop-down.
3. You will then be allowed to change the state of the Toner Empty Mode.

1. Panel should say READY.
2. Press MENU/SELECT button.
3. Press Right arrow button until you see ENGINE.
4. Press MENU/SELECT button.
5. Press Right arrow button until you see TONER EMPTY.
6. Press MENU/SELECT button.
7. Press Right arrow button until you see the desired state for the action when toner is empty.
8. Press MENU/SELECT button.
9. Press Up arrow until you see READY.

    1. Power OFF the printer and manually remove all toners.

    a. Open the Top Cover.

    b. Insert the tip of a screwdriver (or similar tool) into the hole found just inside the opened printer on the lower front right hand corner. While pressing the tool in, manually rotate the toner carousel to get to each of the toners (to remove and reinstall or replace altogether, whichever is required).
    2. Power the printer back on and replace one at a time as asked for by the machine ensuring each cartridge is pushed all the way into the slot AND correct color toner is in correct color slot.

    3. Check each toner developer roll to see if it turns. The one that does not turn could be at fault.

Note: If the printer made a loud buzzing type sound before the panel error occurred, replace possible hindering toner.

    4. After all toners are replaced perform a test print and check for proper operation of the printer.

    Also try this:
    To launch the Status Monitor:

    1. Click on Start => All Programs => Konicaminolta MC 2400 Utilities => Status. If the Status Monitor launches, look under "Printer Status" for the current status of the printer. If the Status Monitor does not launch, see the next step.

    2. Check to see that sharing is not enabled for the printer. Click on Start => Control Panel => Printers and Faxes. Right-click the icon for MC 2400W and select "sharing". Select "Do not share...". Click Apply and OK then repeat step 1. If the Status Monitor still does not launch go to step 3.

    3. On your keyboard, press the following three keys at the same time: CTRL, SHIFT and ESC. This will launch the Windows Task Manager. Click on the Processes tab and look for a process called MSTMON__S.exe. Highlight it, right-click and select "End Process". In Task Manager, click on File in the top Menu bar and select New Task (Run...). Then type in the "Open:" line, MSTMON__S.exe, and click OK. This should launch the Status Monitor.

Cartridges error on a lexmark

Error: "Invalid Toner Cartridge"; Error: "Invalid Refill"; Message: "Change Cartridge"
One of these error messages may appear on the printer display immediately after or shortly after a new toner cartridge is installed into the printer. Note: This may not be specifically a toner cartridge problem; the error may be due to a stuck cover open switch on the printer.

To see if the cover open switch is the cause of this problem, open the top front cover and observe the message on the printer's display panel. The display should read Close Door or Insert Cartridge.

If this message is not displayed, the top cover open sensor and switch will need to be replaced. In addition, the printer may have damaged the new toner cartridge. If the cover open sensor is not operating properly, a new cartridge can be incorrectly flagged as a refilled cartridge by the printer. If this happens, the new cartridge will continue to cause an Invalid Refill or Invalid Cartridge error even if you try reinstalling it or installing it into another printer. If this should occur, please contact the point of purchase of the cartridge to find out how to get the cartridge replaced.

Caution: If the cover open sensor is not operating, do not install another new toner cartridge until you have completed the directions below. Inserting another new cartridge can cause that cartridge to stop working as well. Should this situation arise, please take the following actions:

Place the original working cartridge (the empty or near-empty one) back into the printer. This should clear the error message.

Turn the printer off. Doing this will disengage the cover open sensor.

With the printer switched off, open the top lid and remove the old toner cartridge.

Now replace the old cartridge with another new Lexmark toner cartridge.

Power the printer back on. The printer should now read this cartridge as a newly installed toner cartridge and the error should be cleared. The printer and toner cartridge should function properly now, but the top cover sensor on the printer will still need to be replaced.

If your printer is still under warranty or covered under a service contract, please contact Lexmark Technical Support or your service provider for further recommendations and instructions. Until you can get the cover open switch replaced, remember to have the printer powered off whenever you replace the toner cartridge.

If the top cover switch appears to be working fine, or if you have followed the above steps and your printer continues to post an Invalid Toner Cartridge or Invalid Refill error, make sure you are using a new original Lexmark toner cartridge. A toner cartridge remanufactured or refilled by a third party can cause this error.

To help identify a refilled cartridge, look for the yellow label attached to the toner drum and the body of the toner cartridge. If this is damaged or removed, the cartridge may have been refilled.

If you are using a third-party refilled or remanufactured toner cartridge, it is recommended that you install a new Lexmark brand toner cartridge. Lexmark cannot guarantee the compatibility of any third-party toner cartridges with our printers.

1 Switch on the Lexmark X83 printer.

2 Lift open the cartridge door at the front of the device, below the scanner unit. The printer automatically moves the cartridge carrier to the correct position.

3 Pull each ink cartridge toward you to unclasp it from the carrier. Lift the cartridge out of the cartridge carrier.

4 Clean the copper contacts on the bottom of each cartridge with a clean, dry lint-free cloth. Use a gentle, circular motion to clean the contacts.

5 Insert the ink cartridges back into the cartridge carrier. Push back firmly on each cartridge until it snaps into place.

6 Repeat each step in this procedure again. Close the cartridge door.

Lexmark c534dn unsupported cartrige

This error message appears on the printer screen when the printer thinks the wrong toner cartridge is installed. To clear it or identify a service requirement, follow the steps below. NOTE: If you succeed in resolving the problem at any stage during the procedure, you not need to perform the remaining steps.
  1. Open the top front cover of the printer. If the display DOES NOT read Close cover or Insert cartridge, the 32 error is not caused by the toner cartridge and printer service will be required to fix the problem.

  2. Make sure the correct toner cartridge is installed for this printer model.
    1. Check Lexmark for a list of compatible cartridges for your printer.
    2. If the wrong toner cartridge is installed, remove it and install the correct one.
  3. If the correct toner cartridge is installed, it may not be seated correctly. To ensure that this is not the cause of the error, do the following:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Reseat the toner cartridge.
    3. Close the lid.
    4. Power the printer back on and check the display.
  4. If reseating the toner cartridge does not clear the error message and the error started as soon as you installed this particular toner cartridge, the cartridge may be broken. You can check this as follows:
    1. Power off the printer and then reinstall the old cartridge. (You can also try a different new cartridge to see if that clears the error.)
    2. If the error does disappear, the problem may lie with this cartridge. Please contact the point of purchase, especially if the cartridge is brand new out of the box.
  5. If the error cannot be cleared by putting in a new toner cartridge or one that is known to be working, the printer may require service to fix the problem.

Xerox DC12 Error code 9-355

Error code 9-355 indicates, the magenta toner dispenser is broken and in need of repair.

Open the Front Door

From left to right, the Toner Cartridge colors are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black.

As a pre-caution, place a few sheets of paper on the floor, under the Toner Cartridge area, to catch any toner that may spill.

Pull the cartridge completely out of the machine.

Check for any obvious damage in the cartridge or printer and reinstall. Replace cartridge if damaged.

If error message continues, call a qualified repairman.

The printer is giving me service error E527 what can be done to overcome this error

Hi Good day!!!

This error message "Service Req E527" means that the toner carousel housing the toner cartridges is obstructed, or is unable to rotate correctly. It can be caused by installing a toner cartridge incorrectly.

Close all the covers, and then power the printer off.Open Cover B, and then remove the photo conductor unit (PCU).Turn the toner carousel by hand to line up a toner cartridge with the front of the printer.Open Cover A.If the toner cartridge is not in position to remove it, close Cover A and repeat the steps above.Remove the toner cartridge, and then close Cover A.Repeat all the steps above until you have removed all four toner cartridges.Reinstall the PCU.Close all the covers, and then power on the printer.Open Cover A and Cover B.Check thoroughly for any jammed paper, foreign objects or damaged parts. If you can locate an obstruction, remove it. Then, close all the covers and restart the printer again. If you can identify any damaged parts, there is an obstruction you cannot remove, or there is no change after restarting the printer, then contact Epson for further advice.Reinstall the toner cartridges (Follow the prompts on the LCD display), and then test the printer.

Xerox phaser 7300 toner cartridge problems

Sometimes on this machine as there is a lot of loose toner around it can cover over the sensors in the machine, what I would advise is to remove all the toner cartridges and check for the copper contacts on both the machine and under the imagining unit (which the toner is placed in). Once you have cleaned that away slowly close the lid and reboot the machine and it should return to normal. Its just toner getting caught up in the sensors. Follow the instructions below, when you remove the unit, lift it over your head to find the copper contacts and clean them, be careful not to spill toner everywhere. Good luck!

Reseating the imaging unit
    Remove the toner cartridge:
  1. Open the top cover.
caution_image88x30.gif The imaging units are sensitive to light. Do not expose the imaging units to light any longer than necessary to remove it and cover it. Failure to follow these instructions may damage the imaging units.
  2. Identify the color of the toner cartridge to be replaced (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow or Black).
  3. Move the orange lever on the toner cartridge to the right so that it unlocks.
  4. Lift on the back side of the toner cartridge first, then guide the cartridge out of the printer.
  5. Set the toner cartridge on paper to avoid any toner spilling.
    Reseat the imaging unit:
  6. Lift the imaging unit straight up out of the printer.
  7. Line up the guide pins with the printer's frame and lower the imaging unit back into the printer.
    Reinstall the toner cartridge:
  8. Install the toner cartridge by guiding the front onto the new imaging unit first then lowering the back.
  9. Move the orange lever on the toner cartridge to the left so it locks.
  10. Clean the LEDs with the supplied wipe.
  11. Close the top cover.
