When I hover over its icon on the task bar, the message "1 document(s) pending" pops up. When I open Control Panel and go to Printers, there are no documents but it is in Error rather than ready. When I "See what's printing," there is no pending document. When I attempt to print a test page, it reaches 10% before stopping and reading "Error." I then cancel the job, and the status becomes "Error - Sent to Printer." I have tried resetting both my computer and printer, but neither fixes the problem.

Printer was working, but is not now. All cables are hooked up properly and have been disconnected and reconnected. I have several documents in the memory to be printed, but the printer will not respond. ...

Here are four things you can try; may not have to perfom all:

Check to see if your printer is off-Line

1.Open the Printers, Printer and Faxes, or Device and Printers folder.

To do this:

Windows XP users; Click on Start > Settings > Printers an Faxes or Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

Windows Vista users; Click on Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Printers.

Windows 7 users; Click on Start > Device and Printers.

2.Right-click on the printer object (icon), and select Use Printer Online.

3.Microsoft Windows 7 users will double-click on icon, select printer and then de-select Use Printer Offline.

Printer Paused

The printer or print queue is paused and the print queue icon remains in the notification area ('systray') of the task bar.

Explanation:This is typically an end user error. Hint: Dragging the mouse cursor over the print queue icon in the notification area will reveal (1,2,3) document(s) pending for (User name).

What to do:

•Double-click on the print queue icon to open the print queue.
•Click on Printer in the upper left-hand corner of the menu bar.
•Is there a check mark next to Pause Printing?

-If yes, click on Pause Printing to turn off this Windows feature.

-If no, confirm that there is a check mark next to Set As Default Printer and make sure Use Printer Offline is not selected.

Delete print jobs from the print queue

Access the print queue.

Delete all print jobs

• Click on Printer in the toolbar and then click on Cancel All Documents,
or
• Right-click in the print queue and select Cancel All Documents from the pop-up menu.

You can also delete individual print jobs

1.Highlight the individual job in the print queue by clicking on it.

2.Right-click on the highlighted job and select Cancel from the pop-up menu.

IMPORTANT! If a job is stuck in the print queue and cannot be deleted or canceled using the above steps, there may be an issue with the printer spooler that controls the printing options in Windows. If you observe this symptom, it may be necessary to stop and restart the print spooler; then retrun to delete print jobs.

How to Stop and Restart the Print Spooler

Problem:

Unable to cancel print jobs; Unable to print; Print queue is unresponsive; Locked print queue; Unable to print; Cannot cancel print job; Printer driver not responding

Solution:

7

•Click once on Print Spooler to highlight it, and then click on the Stop or Start links in the right-hand window pane,
or
•Double-click on Print Spooler, and click on the Stop button followed by the Start button.

Canon MP810 printer will not print documents, messages come up on screen: printer not responding, printer offline, document failed to print. Other capabilities are fine.

Hi, there is a possibility that the printer is set off-line or there is a pending print job that was stucked in queue. To check that please go to printer & faxes, right click on the printer icon (your printer), cancel all documents and click yes. Then right click again on the printer icon then select use printer on line. Try printing. If issue still present, restart prinrt spooler services. To access print spooler, goto control panel then administrative tools then select services. Scroll down the vertical scroll bar until select print spooler. Open it then click on stop then start.
