Theres a message saying catridge missing or not detached

I wont think so that there is no toner level sensing in 12a catridge, messaige might be catridge missing or incert catridge.. remove back door see down right side sensor which sensing the catridge presence, check sensor flag dislocate/spring dislocate/broken correct it, if sensor is dusty clean it... Best of luck

Sounds like the sensor area may be dirty, to the 21 cartridge. try lightly scrubbing that with a very smooth cloth or whatever you have. its the area where the "chip part" of the cartridge must meet. that or new print head because its too worn, pending on how long you have had it for.

the contact is bad and you will have to replace the catridge. I recommend just blowing it instead of using damp cloths, too late now. If you replace the cartridge it will take care of your problem.

i think you will have to take the printer to the service center as it needs servicing, there might be a problem with the cartridge holder

when you put new 12A cartridge. you have to align it trough by the option.

In this case make sure that the catridges are inserted in the right slot...... The Colour Catridge should go in the right side and the black Catridges should go on the left side.... Make sure the catridge which u are using on this printer is the right one.......... It should not be a refilled cartridge if it is it will not work because Lexmark printers are not designed to work with Refilled catridges it may damage ur Printer......... If everything here is fine just take out both the catridges...... Take a Dry Paper Towel........ Clean the copper contacts on the printer as well as the Catridges....... Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer............ Replug it in and if still it says catridge is missing then may be a problem with the catridges.............. Hope it Works..... Good Luck........
