My screen is broken

If the LCD panel is broken it must be replaced. The job is done removing the upper part of the laptop, keyboard and panel to disconnect ribbon cable from main board and undo the hinges. Once display is out, remove front display panel and replace LCD display. Part price and procedure depend on the model.

Ds touch screen and main screen not working - connectors broken

if you would have sent it to me first I would have replaced the case for you and you wouldn't have had these problems, but I can still help you out. I have a white nintendo DS lite in stock that I had to replace the bottom lcd display in. I will ship to you for $90 and if you are feeling adventurous send me your parts and I will take off $10 since I have no clue what is broken and what is not, but to me it sounds like the bottom lcd, touch screen , and circuit board are trash.
Thanks

Broken LCD repair

Boss this is not an easy job. To replace the LCD u will have to separate the top portion from the other. I would suggest take it to a reliable technician and he will do the job for u.
There is a flex cable that is connected to the main board through the hinges of the phone and even if u manage to separate the two care should be taken while fixing it again as the new flex (that comes with the LCD display) may get jammed if wrongly done. Only an expert will help u here

Cover replacement

HI You can try with the helping pictures I collected from the links below. I hope you can find some similar techinque. 1) http://www.daydeal.com/pages.php?pageid=5 2) http://repair4mobilephone.org/disassembly_motorola.html Actually, the hinge removal of Motorola phone is the most difficult task. You have to be carefull or else you will brake the LCD cable since the connector of the other end of the LCD cable is located near to the hinge. If you applied too strong force there, you wil brake the LCD cable easily so to me, in order to remove the hinge, you should disconnect the both ends of LCD cable connector. One end will attach to the main LCD near to the speaker, the other end will connect to the main board. Disconnect both of the end in order to release the pressure when you apply on the edge of the hinge in order to seperate the LCD part and the main board with keypad part. Good luck. Regards, Joseph

Compaq presario 1200

there are plastic covers over the hinges, which may be part of the faceplate. being a compaq the hinge screws are most likely torx head screws. compaq used to make a special tool for removing the plastic covers on their laptops. the tool was a bar with a piece of fiberglas circuit board embedded in it. you insert the circuit board into the groove between the top and bottom covers and twist. this is, of course after removing all of the cover screws. some of the cover screws on the display may be hidden under rubber bumpers.
