How do I transfer pictures on my digital camera to my computer?

AFTER INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE FIRST, WITHOUT THE CAMERA BEING CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER, DOTHE FOLLOWING: 1. Turn on the Camera, and change it o "Playback" mode. 2. Connect the camera with computer using USB port. 3. The LCD display of the camera turns off automatically, and the computer said " that a new hardware attached would be detected". 4. Go to "My Computer", and you can find a new drive saying "Removable disk". Double click it and you can find your pictures and videos inside the folder. Just copy them to your computer's hard disk. This procedure is slightly different for each digital camera model. You will need to refer to your instruction manual (Included on the CD-Rom that came with your camera) for exact instructions on how to properly install your camera and download your pictures. The main thing is to first install all of the software on the included CD-Rom disc to your computer BEFORE CONNECTING THE DIGITAL CAMERA TO THE COMPUTER. If you do not do this, Windows will put in its own driver and it is virtually impossible on some computers to get this driver out of Windows and install the proper one. However, if you do find yourself in this position. You can TRY the following. First unhook the camera from the computer, go to: Start / Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs. Next, look for all of the DIGITAL CAMERA software listed under the "Installed Software List" and uninstall that software. This is the same software you HAD installed after hooking up the camera to the computer. Once you have uninstalled ALL OF THE CAMERA software, reboot the computer, then re-install the software WITHOUT the camera connected to the computer. If this works, great! if not it is because Windows refuses to accept the new digital camera driver or Mass Media Driver needed and short of reinstalling the Windows software there is very little you can to do to make it work other than by purchasing a different model digital camera and installing the software FIRST before attaching the camera to the computer. If you think this is just a Cobra Digital problem, do a search on the internet. It occurs with almost all brands of digital cameras on the market, usually the ones that use proprietary drivers instead of mass media drivers.
