Take off the clutch cover and make sure the area isn't gummed up preventing the brake from disengaging. Generally the brake consists of metal strap that goes around the clutch and is tightened when the brake bar is pushed forward. The tensioning is adjusted through a spring mechanism and it may need to be loosened as well. Hope this helps!

The breather sits in the bar pad, it is a sintered plug that covers a duck bill valle, you would need to screw a self tapper into the plug so as to pull it out, this will of course desroy the breather and would need replacing
you should be able to release it with a flat screwdriver. you should see something that looks like a wheel where the chain brake locks to the brake handle when you put the cover back on. you should be able to twist that wheel and unlock it that way.
It sounds like the chain is too tight. Loosen up the tension on the chain by turning the tensioning screw located on the end of the saw where the bar goes out.
