Consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Insert Batteries Where on Vivitar VimiCam X014N?

Do you mean the Vivitar ViviCam X014N? If so, the battery compartment is on the right hand side as you look back of the camera with the view screen and menu buttons. The cover on the battery compartment will rotate up from the bottom of the camera when opened. This is shown in the manual although it isn't completely clear. The current link to the manual for the ViviCam X014 is http://www.vivitar.com/files_products/445/ViviCam_X014_Camera_Manual.pdf . See pages 3-4 for the pictures of the battery compartment location. Note: the N suffix refers to the case color. The manual applies to any ViviCam X014.

I hope this helps.

We have lost the installation CD for our http://www.vivitar.com/products/1/digital-cameras/445/itwist-x014 Can we download a copy from you? If so, from where?

You can get the software from Vivitar. Go to the link you provided, then click on "Vivitar Experience Software."

You might want to consider NOT using Vivitar software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Looking for x014 manual

It seems there is not digital copy of the manual available. The next best thing is the FAQS on Vivitar's site :

I just bought one, every card I put in it it tell me the card is full, insert new one

Remove the memory card, now! if you have used the internal memory even once, go to menu and select "format" follow the on screen prompt to erase the data, now install the memory card it should allow you to take photo's.

I got a vivcam x014 for christmas and i did not get a manuel with it some of my picture r blry and orange they do not come out clear. Where can i get a manuel for it?

Hi

If you goto http://www.vivitar.com/support and enter the details of your camera it will let you download your manual.

I don't think it's a problem that can be solved with the manual but read it and see if it helps , if not you can send a email from the address above to see if Vivitar can help .

Hope this helps

Vivitar ViviCam X014 will not turn on. Memory

Buy a real camera. X014 is cheap and has a foggy cheap lens. It will never take a good quality picture. It is a waste of a 10 megapixel chip!
