Is it possible to use my VEO Advanced Connect camera on Ubuntu linux? If so, can you tell me how to configure Ubuntu to recognize the camera? I would like to use it with Skype.
Thank you for any help you can offer.
Try asking one of the the ubuntu experts, in the ubuntu section.
Thank you "rytech uk". This was a camera I had picked up "cheap" (as in FREE) and thought I'd attempt to get it working. I've had it for a couple of years, and never had any luck getting it to work. As I type this, the camera is on it's way to the trash dump......
Unfortunately the Veo Advanced Connect ( model 642v ) ( ID 0x0545 : 0810 ) has some proprietary firmware inside on the chip , and so far there has been limited success in making a proper driver for it.
You could wait and see if some one does get a driver out for it but I have been looking for 2 years and not had much luck. I would recommend trying to get another web cam that is compatable with linux, or that already has drivers available.
