Try :

HP OfficeJet 7410

  1. Perform a partial reset on the printer. To do this first remove the power supply from the back of the printer. With the power off press and hold the # and 3 keys.
  2. Plug the power back into the printer, keep holding the # and 3 keys till you see " Partial Reset " displayed on the printer screen.
  3. If that does not work, do the same but press and hold the # and 6 keys

Re-initialize the HP all-in-one

Force the HP all-in-one to reinitialize by following the steps below:

1. Turn the unit off by pressing the ON button.

2. Disconnect the power cord.

3. Wait five seconds, then reconnect the power cord.

4. but before plugging the unit back in, press and hold the # and 6 keys on the HP all-in-one numeric keypad. Continue to hold these keys down for a few seconds after plugging the unit back in to reset it. Once the all-in-one re-establishes communication with the computer, reset the language and country.

Hp 7410: Error msg: Remove and check color cartridge. Is this a deathnell for this machine? I cannot seem to get past it even after removing and replacing.

There are several possible issues causing the problem. The color cartridge could be faulty. The contacts on the cartridge and the associated contacts inside the printer may be dirty. Finally, the cartridge chute may be damaged or printer may need service.

You can try a new HP cartridge. Next try cleaning the contacts with distilled (or bottled water) and Q-tips or lint free cloth. With the printer on, open the lid and remove the cartridges when they stop moving. Disconnect the power cord from the printer to stop the machine in the open state. Clean the cartridge contacts and the matching contacts in the machine. Dry the contacts with a new Q-tip or wait 10 minutes before replacing the cartridges. See http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01423559&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=391194 for pictures. Then close the cover and reconnect power cord. You can repeat the cleaning step if it doesn't solve the problem.

If this doesn't work, look at the cartridge chute area to see if the spring is dislodged or the tab is broken. Again see the link above. In that case, the unit needs service. If it is under warranty, contact HP. Otherwise, decide if it is worth the repair cost.

I hope this helps.

I have an HP 7410 with the error message "remove and check color cartridge." The circuit board behind the cartridge is not damaged, and the side-load spring is intact, so that's not the...

Sounds like the mainboard inside of the printer is bad.
Some things to verify this, make sure the cartridges that your using are original HP Cartridges and NOT 3rd party ones, even though 3rd party can work, its hit and miss and can cause sporadic problems.
If that doesn't fix it then try this troubleshooting step:
Reset process is........unplug power cable from the back of the unit, without turning it off, wait for about 10-15 secs & then while plugging in the power cable press & hold # key & the 3 key.....once u can see the unit powering on let the buttons go. Its important that you do the plugging in of the power cable while your holding these buttons on the printer........you will see a "partial reset" being displayed on the printer.
If that does not do the trick you can try the same with the # key & the 6 key on the printer. This is a semi full reset.

If u still get the error msg its a hardware issue with the printer & cannot be fixed with regular troubleshooting.

At that point unless the printer is under warranty I would replace it because parts aren't available for it.

Error message: remove and check cartridge on

If it's a new cartridge one of two possible problems has occured. 1.) The cartidge is not seated fully in the cartridge tray, or 2. when you removed the protective strip from the cartridge a small piece tore off and is stuck to the cartridge. This is a frequent problem. Uder good lighting check for any small stips of clear tape arounf the cartidge nozzels.
In addition, make certain cartifge is fully inserted in tray and locking mechanism is secure.
It sounds surpisingly simple, but I doubt anyone can say it hasn't happened to them at least once.
If it's an old carteidge the nozzel may be clogged. Remove the cartridge an either clean the nozzells with a moist Q-TIP, or dip the entire nozzel section in warm water for a few seconds. Put cartridge back in printer and print a test page. If you cleaned the nozzel with water you may finf you test page smeared with some water, but this will clear up.

My HP Officejet 7410 xi is showing an error message that states "Remove and check color cartridge". I have tried replacing the old cartridge with two separate new ones and I still get the error message.

Apparently, there is a known problem with this printer series (7310 / 7410). When you replace the cartridge, there is a metal wire that keeps the cartridge in place. This wire comes away from the wall as you slide the cartridge in and makes a hole in the ribbon cable.

Unfortunately, there is not much that you can do, other than to contact HP. Hopefully, your printer is still under warranty.

HP 7410 printer displays error ''remove and check colour cartridge

I think that spring must have gotten loose that holds the cartridge in place, right hand side, put it back where it belongs, might want to compare with the other, black cartridge side.  Good Luck!

Printer does not recognize color cartridge for my HP OfficeJet 7410

Are you sure it's a genuine HP cartridge? Sometimes remanufactured cartridges aren't recognized by the printers. HP and others make them so that they have a chip inside that ensures only new genuine cartridges can be used. Try a new HP and see if that solves the problem. If you've already tried that one, then make sure the contacts in the printer are clean. If you still have a problem, then I'd say try a new printer!

HP OFFICEJET 7410 ALL-IN ONE PRINTER GIVES MESSAGE TO REMOVE/CHECK CARTRIDGE ON RIGHT EVEN AFTER NEW HP 96 BLACK AND HP 97 TRICOLOR CARTRIDGES INSTALLED.

Were you sure to (1) remove the blue tape over the contacts, and (2) not to touch said contacts? You can try cleaning them with a lint free cloth and distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
