Question about Heidelberg Linoscan 1400 Flatbed Scanner

We installed new hard disk, now OC is WinXp. Then we install Newcolor 5000 Plus v. 1.00 build 316. This program was when we buy our scanner. Then we "on" our scanner and the system do not installed Heidelberg driver properly. For us the program Newcolor 5000 is high class then VueScan.

I am running Newcolor 5000 on an XP box. There are some issues but it does run fine. I just ignore the "out of memory" messages that pop up and keep scanning. Upon booting, the device manager will try to install the scanner (that needs to be on to be recognized). It will need to be cancelled seven times. This happens every boot, not ideal but it's how I do it. For a while I was dual booting to W2K but now just tolerate the eccentricities of Newcolor.

How do i speed up my laptop
Slow computer If you have a virus program installed, it is most likely is running a scan on your hard disk. It can slow down your computer especially if you have a large hard drive. After scanning is completed then the computer will be faster.
To make your computer (hard disk) lean and mean, uninstall any programs you do not use.
Also you need to maintain your hard disk by running Disk Cleanup this will remove old temp files and old compressed files etc.
This will reduce the number of files the virus scanner has to scan. Plus running Defrag. this makes your files contiguous so the system can access files off the hard drive quicker because it does not work as hard.. Disk Cleanup and Defrag should be carried out at least once a month.
If you have 512Mb of RAM installed then installing more RAM will speed up your computer. After installing your graphics card, you may need to disable the built-in graphics card in the BIOS for the new graphics card to work properly.

to install a WinXP component u need the instalable WinXP CD(not the cd that came with you PC or a rescue disk)
Switch on PC, let the machine boot WinXP, after u get the Desktop, insert the WinXP CD, after the CD rom loads WinXP from CD, in the opening menu select:
"Install optional Windows Components:
in the next menue, select Accessories and Utilities (Tick the Box)
Click Next and u r done....shut down and re-start...

No install disk
Install disks for hardware get stale really fast.  You download a current driver for WinXP from http://www.mustek.com.tw/Download/driv_scanr/english/1200ed.html
  If you want to install on Linux, I think there might be a couple of compatible drivers for that too.  Otherwise it's not too bizarre, things all riff off the same TWAIN-II spec so you don't have a lot of rewrite to do.

  If you work in a Mac environment, there might be some SilverFast drivers for that family of scanner.  They cost money and are worth it (if you use the scanner.)
