You should be able to see there might be an antenna on the back of your computer which is part of the wireless network adaptor. I checked the specification of your computer and did not see wireless card included. You may need to buy one internal wireless card or a USB wireless card to use wireless feature. You will need to install the driver and configure it to use a wireless access point on some of the wireless cards. Usually you can turn on wireless by using network connection or using the connect to item in the start menu if you are using Windows Vista.

Trying to activate my wireless connection for my acer acer aspire x1300 do I need a disk or can I press certain buttons to activate the wireless

The aspire Acer Aspire x1300 does not come standard with wireless. If you have added wireless capabilities, your hardware should have come with a disk containing drivers for your wireless device. If it didn't I would look up the manufacture's site and find the support or drivers download page.

Which wireless card is good for a acer aspire x1200 ?

there are two options

internal card and usb to ext wireless hub

basic issue is this how far is the desktop from the wireless signal

if it's in same room then the internal would be fine

if it's in another room then ext hub is better solution

either way, here's a good source for both

Just bought acer Z5700 but i have to plug the cable into the router. i thought this product was wi fi what am i doing wrong ?

You probably never enabled the wireless card ..Go to network folder and start the wireless connection ..In there select to connect wireless and teh card will enable the wireless and will show available networks after ..
Also check in the device manager to see if the wireless card is proper installed ..if it is not ..just download and install the drivers from support site ..or install them from the recovery partition or from the disk if you have one .
to get into device manager .click right on computer icon ..select properties than device manager ..In there look for wifi card ..click right on it and select enable ..If it is in yellow it means it has no driver ..and try to click right on it and select update driver ..
Also see that it may have a button for the wireless to be enabled on it ..Im not sure but it may be something similar to laptops..just a button needed to be pressed in order to enable the wireless card without any other intervention ..If the card is enabled it will appear in the tray from task bar (right area ) where all active programs appear ..Right click on it ...and select to show networks ..and select yours and connect ..

My Acer Aspire x1200 desktop won't turn on. I press the power button, the fans rev and the lights flash blue as normal, then it beenps once and shuts down. It keeps cycling like this, trying to turn itself...

Have you by chance downloaded a new Service Pack for Windows?
Try booting into safe mode and doing a System Restore (if possible), if not try taking out your RAM Module(s) and re-seating them (it). If more than one try re-seating each one separately. One bad module could cause erratic behavior.

Load wireless att card on my aspire 3680

Is the wireless card activated? there should be a switch on the laptop or you might have to press the FN button along with one of the Function keys (F5 for example, it should have a wifi logo on it).

If this is active then got to your network configuraton and make sure the card is enabled (right click and enable)

If it isn't there then it needs installing with the driver disk
