Question about Intel Motherboard

1 Answer

Replacing bad motherboard, but now sure where some of the connectors go

I am in the process of replacing my ms7207 in my eMachines t6420 and I am having some trouble figuring out how to rehook the front connectors. It is a series of 3 connectors with different colored wires; one with red and white; one with black and white; one with white and green.

SOURCE: wiring hookup instructions for ecs 945 gct -m mATX motherboard

Hi joe, if you're question refers to ECS 945GCT-M motherboard, than goto page 12 in the manual. You'll see this
77d37bb.jpg Please read all of pg.12.
It's my guess you bought this board from powerspec. For now forget the two red wires & just hook up the case's wires for all LED's & on/off. Everything should be just fine.

Good Luck!
Mike

SOURCE: Emachine T3828 power switch connection to motherboard

The "Ultra Helpful Instructions" that Emachines provide (here: http://downloads.emachines.com/userguides/8511279_eM_NG3_chassis_HW_ref_en.pdf) state that when replacing the system board, "18. Attach all cables to new system board", but fails to say where that would be for each cable.

The site below says it's a genuine Intel board in there, so, congrats on that. http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socket478/D845GVSR.shtml

And with that, the link to the manual:
ftp://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/D845GVSR/SR_English.pdf

You're looking for the info on page 32, I believe.

See if that fixes it up. If not, post back.

I am in need of network driver for the Emachines t6420, please?

Hi,
The motherboard in the machine is an MS-7207
The chipset drivers are nForce 430/410

You can download the chipset drivers from nVidia here >>>>>>>>>

http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_winxp32_8.26_11.09.html

Don't worry, the network (LAN) driver is included in the package.

Regards.

EMachines T6420 - powers up in safe mode only

Change the order so that the CD boots first. Try to run Repair from the Windows CD. If unsuccessful, you'll need to reinstall Windows.

HOw do I do a clean install of an EMachines T6420?

If you have a restore disc that came with your computer just stick it in and boot from that. If you do not have a disc it should have a restore partition on the hard drive with an option to start a recovery program by pressing a button. watch the boot up process to see what you options it gives, it may be quick so pay attention.

TRYING TO HOOK UP MU POWER BUTTON NEED TO KNOW

Hi there
The front panel connectors are mainly,
  • harddisk activity connector
  • power switch connector
  • reset switch connector
  • power LED connector
  • speakers connector
  • USB connector
Harddisk activity connector
This normally comes red in colour and is labeled as HDD-LED
Power switch connector
This comes green in colour and is labeled as POWER-SW
Reset switch connector
This usually comes grey in colour and is labeled as RST-SW
Power LED connector
This is usually green in colour and is labled as PWR-LED
Speakers connector
This speaker will give different beep sounds during boot to tell the user if there is any errors. It occupies 4 pins, however only 2 is important for the function. Be sure to connect the red coloured cable to the positive polarity and the black to the negative.

No you cant, the gateway GX7018E uses integrated graphics like the T6420. You will have to buy a cheap PCI or PCI-E graphics card to test it out.
