Its an error with the senor for the transferring belt. Try going into the additional functions-adjustments/ cleaning-gradation adjust- full adjustment. And follow the prompts on the screen. If this doesn't work and you feel comfortable trying you can clean the sensor. Remove the front covers, waste bottle and the drum. The sensor is located inside the chassy where the drum was at, in the middle (front to rear) on the left Do not use a vacuum on the sensor it can be damaged easily. After cleaning and reassmbling retry the gradation adjustment.
E020-01A9 Error Code : iR C3100 Series Hi there I have looked it up and what it says about it I have put down for you so you can gave it a try hope it works for you. Approved Symptom E020-01A9 Error Code.
Cause For ATR control, the detected Toner/Density ratio exceeds the lower limit (3%) 3 times continuously for Yellow
Action The ATR Sensor and Patch Image Read Sensor both determine toner density. Depending on the density readings the copier will or will not add toner. Check the status of the Drum Unit under COPIER>DISPLAY>MISC>DRUM-LIFE. The Patch Image Read Sensor looks at a patch of toner that is generated on the drum for each colour and determines the amount of toner that is in the patch by the amount of reflected light. If the drum is not creating the patch correctly, the patch reading will be affected. Replace the Drum Unit if it is 80% of its rated life or higher...
hello, this is caused because the patch the machine puts on the drum unit is out of range when it reads it.I replace the drum unit when i get this code and go by the directions in the box to clear the drum count
Hi error code refers to a drum drive motor error code,
more than likely you have a tight Drum. remove drum and see if you can turn it by hand if not replace the drum unit
the hard drive containing the software that drives the machine has an error. Corrective steps would be to contact to a Canon technician, who can first try to re-install the software, and if this doesn't work the hard drive has probably crashed, meaning that the drive will need to be replaced and the software re-installed
