Hello,
I have a Frigidaire 18" dishwasher model #FDR252RBS2. The plastic impeller attached to the top of the motor has melted where it attaches to the drive shaft of the motor. In the manufacturer's diagram this impeller does not have a corresponding number to reference it to a part number. I would like to know if it is possible to buy just the plastic impeller? Or do I have to actually buy a new motor (assuming the impeller comes with the motor)? The impeller itself is 3 3/8" wide, flat on the top, and has 1/4" deep fins on the bottom. I really hope you can help me! Thank you!!!
I have the same problem and after talking to a local service center and doing some online research (remember: Google is your friend) I have discovered this is considered a non-serviceable part and you must buy the entire motor. The impeller comes with the motor. This is probably not the answer you were hoping but is what you have to do. With that said, I plan to JB Weld the ****** back on the motor shaft!
Hello &
Welcome to FixYa
The problem
is with the impeller or the chopper assembly that is causing this screeching
noise. You can take apart the bottom front access panel and clean the drain
pump assembly completely and check for any broken parts inside that need
replacement. If the problem returns then replacing the impeller/drain
pump-motor assembly is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have
any other questions.
