Hi nishantsi762,

You can still use the One Key Recovery after formatting your drive C and installing XP. Just make sure that you will not reformat the whole hard drive because One Key Recovery image is in the hidden partition of your hard disk.

Hope it helps,

Thank you for using Fixya.

Hi , I suggest first try to increase brightness via graphics device control applet , a shortcut maybe on the system tray or within control panel (btw did you hold down the Fn key while pressing the brightness key - I presume standard kb controls)

Here i bought LenovoG550..For a longtime i got message "can"t complete the microsoft secuity essentials upgrade installation, Errorcode 0x80070057.

Hi,
That is an error for the security update and seems windows is not letting it update properly on your lenovo.
you can try and do it in safe mode see if it will work from there, or you can disable your anti virus on the machine see if the update will go through.
If not then try in safe mode if still does not work even in safemode then the last option is reinstalling windows on your machine.
You can try and use the One Key Recovery option on your Lenovo, but if you installed a retail version of windows on your Lenovo then that might be the problem.
Try using he retail disc if you bought one or if lenovo provided you a recovery disc then you can use that to reinstall windows back to defaults.
Back up all you personal files first before doing so.
Have a nice day.

I have lenovo ideapad s10-2 it start normaly but it will remaining please wait can you help me

Hi,

I believe you're having problem with the Operating System on your computer. Unfortunately, Lenovo will not provide a product key for the Operating System since the an OEM version. What you can do is reinstall the Operating System using the One Key Recovery Sofware or the Recovery Disc that came with the computer. Follow these steps for you to be able to reinstall the Operating System using the One Key Recovery.

1. Turn off the computer.

2. Press the little button near the power button, it usually do have a drawing of an icon that looks like a horse shoe or a headset.

3. There will be a window that will appear which do have three option, One Key Antivirus, One Key Recovery and System Setup. Choose One key Recovery.

4. There will be another window that will appear which do have two option, Restore from initial backup and Restore from user backup,Choose Restore from initial back up

5. It will asked you if you want to continue, Just click on OK or YES.

6. Once done, Reboot the computer.

Hope this information will help. Thank you for using FixYa!

Welcome to Fixya

Hi. It means that the one key recovery software is already not working inside the laptop. This happens when you re-partition the harddrive or the harddrive is infected by virus. The only for us to restore the computer is to use the recovery cd. You might need to order that disk to lenovo. You may call 18774536686 then press option 3. The turn around time for the delivery of the disk is 3 days.

Hi Nishant,
I saw you post about the One Key Recovery on your S10-3 system and I would like to Help.
You mentioned that you have an S10-3 system and that it has Windows7 on it and that you want to install Windows XP on it.
I guess that can be possible as long as you do not delete / format the partition where the One Key Recovery is located your One Key Recovery can still be utilized once you may need to set the system back to factory defaults, the Partition where the One Key Recovery will sometimes be name Lenovo Recovery Partition and cannot be seen in windows since it is a hidden partition only seen when doing an installation of windows using a retail Windows Installation cd.
Just to add about the OKR or One Key Recovery once you downgrade to XP and you use the One Key Recovery it will restore the system back to factory defaults then windows7 will be the operating system again on your s10-3

How do you restore this computer to factory settings?

Hi,
Please turn off your system completely and then press the "one key recovery" which is highlighted on this picture.2dad522.jpg

Your computer should boot up, if it doesn't then keep the one key pressed till the time it boots up.
Now you can choose the option "Restore to factory settings" and proceed to restoration.
If your windows files have been corrupted this process will fix them automatically, then no restore is required. Else it will continue with the restoration.

Thanks and Regards

  • First have your Laptop turned OFF
  • Once turned OFF press and hold down the One Key Recovery Button beside the power button, it should have an arrow icon arching to the left and hold it down for 5 seconds the Laptop should turn on.
  • You will see on the screen Windows is Loading Files, then Lenovo One Key Rescue system with a wallpaper of leaves in the background.
  • Once you see the screen it will give you options like One key anti virus, One Key Recovery and so on.
  • Click on One Key Recovery, then the next page click on the first option that says restore to initial backup or Restore back to factory defaults.
  • This will then give you a screen informing you that if you have data on the Hard drive that this will result to data loss once started, click on yes or next if you are decided to proceed, then click on start to begin the One Key recovery process.
Once everything is done you will get a screen informing you that it is done click on DONE then Reboot this will restart your computer like when you had it the very first time.

IdeaPad S10e Netbook: CANT OPEN LENOVO ONE KEY RECOVERY UPON START...

Make sure you did it correctly. Computer should be OFF when doing the one key recovery. Turn off the computer then press the small button right beside the power button. Your computer should automatically turned on and you will go straight to one key recovery software. If this will not happen, then the one key recovery is destroyed. We need to re-image your Harddrive to have that one key recovery software back to you computer. You may call Lenovo technical support department for further assistance on how you are going to send your laptop to our depot department.

One key recovery not working

This problem exist because once the 31GB default partition is formatted NTFS, it reduces in size. So, I found this solution.

1. Boot your machine with Ubuntu LiveCD
2. Go to Disk Utility and remove the C partition (31GB) and do not format it. Just RAW partition.
3. Now, Power off your lenovo Y410.
4. Press the NOVO key to start OneKey recovery and follow the prompts

You should get an option to recover sucessfully.

Enjoy
