Question about Toro Lawnmower 20099 Mower Mowers Lawn

1 Answer

I have a Toro self propelled lawn mower with a Briggs motor. It has the "Ready Start" feature that doies not want to work when cold. After several pulls of the starter rope and a few minutes wait, it starts onthe next pull. Is there any adjustment that will help with the cold start? It starts fine when warmed up.

There is a common problem with the ready start on early models. They tend to stick once moisture gets in them.

A dealer like www.arcolawn.com can do this under warranty for you.

Good luck

Have a self-starting, self propelled toro lawn mower about 5 years old, I ran it out of gas by accident & now it won't start

It seems to be an obstruction in your fuel delivery system. Get a can of ether and a spray a short burst of it into the breather area near the carburetor, if the mower starts up and then stalls out, then you may need to get your carburetor serviced.

I have a Toro 20" self propelled, electric start

I am strictly Briggs&Stratton. They are hard to start when the fuel tank is half empty. Clean the plug and air filter.

To much oil.is their a drain plug for the oil.if not how do i get it out.

Most of these do not have a drain plug..

Just tip the mower up on it's side to drain out the fill tube.. (per owners manual for most self propelled Briggs and Stratton mowers)

You can verify if you wish by going to the Toro site.. get your model number first.

Disconect the spark plug wire before tipping it.. just for safety.. and have a few rags ready..

Best of luck!

Self-propelled feature does not work at all! Any suggestions?

You might have a broken belt to the self propelled or a broken spring or whatever engages the self propel. Take off the cover and see if anything is broken or missing. Have someone engage the self propel while you are watching and see what is going on.
