No sound hi i have a ibm thinkpad 600x laptop i have no sound coming out i have checked sound card and the volume nothing working can any one help I have the same problem. I've checked all hook ups and settings. Everything is were it should be as it appears. Please help.

After checking the obvious (volume control mute not checked, volume slider not all the way down, and volume button on keyboard is not pressed to mute) -

Go into Control Panel, system, hardware tab, device manager, Sound and Video Game controllers, and delete the sound card. Reboot your system. Windows will find the sound card and re-install it.

Hi. Try plugging in an external speaker just to test the issue. It could be just the speaker of the laptop is having the problem. If you were able to hear the sound from the external speaker then the problem is the built in speaker of the computer. If there is no sound coming out to external speakers. Try to reinstall the driver of your soundcard.

my ibm 600x thinkpad wont load anythig, it comes up as Error 00178 and 00301 and 00188

Continuous beep usually mean problem with the memory module.

I think the Thinkpad is made by Lenovo, go to their site, enter the specifications for your laptop and search for an audio driver.

Download and install the audio driver. This should fix your problem.

If you would like me to do this for you please provide the model number.

FN pg up pg up. It that is not it try settings> control panel> sounds and multimedia> audio> volume Make sure the volume control and wave sliders are a least past the halfway point. Also check that the mute box is empty. If that dose not work then in that same window try > Advanced and make sure those settings are correct.

Did you try that DVD on other machine ?? Check on the property that its a DVD/CD drive.Incase more information I'm here to help you.

There is no otherway. becase the slides sends direct signal to inverter for adjusting brightness. You can adjust brightness the
other way ,through graphic cards property, but that is only adjustment for the color and if you do make it bright, you'll be loosing the vivid color..not so natural.

Check device manager and see if it shows up there. if you have a yellow question mark or red x, install or re-install driver by right clicking on your sound card and uninstall and scan for hardware changes.

ibm is providing their computer with a relevant bios updtes . bios updte will solve most of this type of problems
